I've played with tons of randoms who are now friends that I play with regularly. I've teamed up with people from both Reddit and Bungie's forums when I needed help with raids or Nightfall. Every single person who teamed up with me, who were all male gamers, was awesome and friendly and helpful and never made me feel uncomfortable or harassed me in any way. They've all been super-cool, and we've gotten along swimmingly, even if they were surprised at first that I was a female. Maybe it's because I'm there to play the game and get shit done, and not simper and flirt and be obnoxious because "OMG I'M A GIRL GAMER LOL!!!1" If I don't know how to do something, I either say it in the post or tell them in the party chat, and when they give direction, I listen and do as I'm told. I don't get offended at banter, and I'll dish it out right back, so we all have fun. Maybe I've just been INCREDIBLY lucky, but I've never had a bad experience as a gamer who just happens to have ladyparts. So hats off to all you gentlemen out there who don't treat me any differently just because I don't have a Y chromosome. Y'all the real MVPs.
