Operating Income is defined as the amount of profit realized from a business's operations after taking out operating expenses. Bungie gets between 20% and 35% of cumulative operating income. Weird, so I guess the other 65%-80% gets thrown out into the streets.
As it pertains to microtransactions (a type of operating income), player retention is strongly related to in-game sales revenue. There is every reason for Bungie to continue to motivate players to continue playing. Activision takes the majority of the operating income, so you know they're in the same boat.
Now, back to your original comment:
Shareholders dont care after box sales how many people log in everyday, they got there money.
Omitting the grammatical errors that earn you front row seat on the short bus, this is an incorrect statement. The investors/licensee's in this case (Activision) VERY much care about how many people log in every day because those numbers are related to the current operating income AND potential operating income. They care so much that in the contract, there are agreement termination clauses based on both unit sales and operating income.
So whos the ignorant -blam!- now?
The statement you made is still ignorant and misleading, "phucko."

Ok grammer -godwinslaw!- you win, you can validate yourself as well due to your internet research skills. However your research still proved that my statement is true. No matter the percentages, they got paid a flat percentage. As did Activision and the other shareholders. You skipped over my point that Destiny is flat out a shooter with more cut scenes. Battlefield and Call of Duty have a tried and true recipe for yearly success that does not submit its playernase to a ridiculous RNG system or time locked content and try to convince the masses that its for our own good. Because we as consumers mow through content. I played all the Halos and Battlefield and Call of Duty franchises. My issue was that Destiny provides artificial barriers as "content" when they actually get "paid" for releasing DLC. Which they also cut up and give it to us in parts, yeah.... Thats content. If I was a shareholder I would be worried that this business practice goes against traditional practices shown by battlefield and Call of Duty franchises that are successful. Either way, ill also man up and say I was in a foul mood after rng in raids today. I apologise for being a dick.
