It's their way of slowing down thin content of this game. Just like they nerfed weapon part drops, they realized that most people have 90% of exotics in the first month of TTK release, with nothing on horizon for at least next 3months they need to slow down our progress. I am glad there are better FPS games coming in next month so I can finally give this game a middle finger and move on.

  • Because people abused the shit out of 3 of coins. 90 percent of the complaints here are self induced.

3 of coin should only work on Strikes and Raids not on regular story missions, Bungie yet again did not take that into consideration. this is not yr one anymore they know the community and what they are capable of. Yet their fix was to nerf the drop rate on 3 of coin instead of limiting to which activity it works on.

  • You're absolutely right about the usage and when they should be utilized. The fact remains people farmed them until they had every exotic. Bungie did not say "hey spend 5 hours killing one boss to get every new exotic". Try hards took that upon themselves.

  • After listening to that planet destiny podcast with Luke Smith, I got the impression that they knew exactly what players were going to do with the three of coins that first week. He made it seem like not every rng exotic was available in the engrams that first week. Like players who spent all of their coins could only get certain weapons and armor. I really don't like to buy into elaborate behind the scenes theories, but that podcast sure made it seem like that first week wasn't totally a surprise to the devs.
