Are you a female gamer who gets pestered, bothered, harassed, threatened, insulted or all of the above? There are lots of great guy gamers out there to play with but we all know there are some real jerks out there as well. Reply/bump/like if you're a female gamer or a guy gamer who is cool with female gamers. Female gamers are here, and here to stay. :) <3

  • I've played with quite a few female gamers on destiny and they were good players. I don't know why people have a problem with women playing video games.

  • My wife is a gamer. You will respect her and act civil or you will gtfo. That being said a sense of humor is required for any fire team. There are always people that like to tip toe on that line though and she has no problem letting them know when they are nearing the danger zone. But she doesn't invent issues. I find that some people (not just women) go into things looking for reasons to be pissed off and have a hair trigger. Be it because they didn't want to be there in the first place, feel inadequate and/or feel uncomfortable to start with. I try to make her and the rest of my team feel as comfortable as I can. And a little humor (silly but not annoying) can go a long way.

    • I'm fine with female gamers, just don't bring the feminazi sexist equal rights bullshit attitude into the gaming world, and I guarantee you will have a quality experience with whomever you play with! Guy or girl. (:

      • Try as I might, I've never understood the egotism required to feel superior to a member of the opposite sex, especially over a video game. Of course, I'm not a hormone driven psychopath that views women as just a holster for a certain phallic organ, which may contribute somewhat to my position. I've fought shoulder to shoulder with women in combat, and rolled with a few who helped me understand how a pretzel would feel if it could; so, you're a fellow gamer, nothing more or less. -blam!-s are -blam!-s, regardless of what dangles or may be absent twixt their legs.

      • Destiny needs identity politics about as much as your average Guardian needs to be spotted by a Gorgon in the Vault of Glass.

So every single girl automatically gets this treatment? Posting posts like this insinuating all girls are being harassed like this is a sweeping statement. I have many girl gamer friends. One of them told me how she got told she was a whore in pvp one time. I told her I was told I'm a fagg@t. We laughed. We forgot about it. It's the Internet. One of my girlfriends told me girls make this a bigger issue than it is as part of their 'gamer girl' 'nerd girl' image. I would find and crush whoever said anything derogatory to any of them. Any girl in fact. I think it's disgusting to insult someone due to their sex, age or race. But it is a matter of plain fact that this issue is exacerbated by the totemic stands with all out sweeping statements like this post and everyone needs to chill the -blam!- out and play the game.

                    •
who gets pestered, bothered, harassed, threatened, insulted or all of the above
But I've had all those things happen to me!!... Err wait, does this mean I'm a female gamer? It's a weird thing though, when I was a kid there was practically no Female gamer's. Women were always at least 5 years more mature then males, so by the time most games had come out, most Women had already outgrown them and seen them as "Immature". Same with most adults over 20 did no longer play games, it was a solely teenager thing.. So what changed? As most gamers are now adults, and there are many women interested in the hobby?

                      • I do not play with Gamer girls. I play with gamers, just simple as. I do not care what gender you are, I do not care what race you are or what religion you are as long as you are decent at the game and fun to talk to.

                        • Ive only played with less than a handful of female gamers. One was today actually. It was a raid team of all randoms. She had never beaten oryx. We instructed her just like any other player boy or girl and she listened and we won. I do notice however the guys treating women differently and trying to flirt. I'm sure she wasn't on the team for a date. She was playing a game like the rest of us.

                        • It doesn't matter what gender you're. It's who YOU are and your mentality. I'm a pretty laid back person and like to get the deeds done effectively and if takes awhile to get things done no harm done. But we had a few bad eggs in a raid today and their poor attitudes made us all suffer the consequences. Doesn't matter male or female but if you're a female that craves attention because you're a woman than that's annoying. You can tell who is a real gamer. Take Laced up Lauren for example. A awesome person who enjoys playing games

                          • I've played with tons of randoms who are now friends that I play with regularly. I've teamed up with people from both Reddit and Bungie's forums when I needed help with raids or Nightfall. Every single person who teamed up with me, who were all male gamers, was awesome and friendly and helpful and never made me feel uncomfortable or harassed me in any way. They've all been super-cool, and we've gotten along swimmingly, even if they were surprised at first that I was a female. Maybe it's because I'm there to play the game and get shit done, and not simper and flirt and be obnoxious because "OMG I'M A GIRL GAMER LOL!!!1" If I don't know how to do something, I either say it in the post or tell them in the party chat, and when they give direction, I listen and do as I'm told. I don't get offended at banter, and I'll dish it out right back, so we all have fun. Maybe I've just been INCREDIBLY lucky, but I've never had a bad experience as a gamer who just happens to have ladyparts. So hats off to all you gentlemen out there who don't treat me any differently just because I don't have a Y chromosome. Y'all the real MVPs.

                          • What? Is this a serious post in all honesty? I mean half of the guys on this forum, for reasons i'll never know, make female characters all the time. It is almost impossible to guess that someones guardian is actually a girl unless their gamertag was like ImReallyAGirl_Really lol. Unless you are verbally communicating with someone i don't see how you get treated worse than the rest of us. This is coming from a male view point so please feel free to enlighten me, but in the Destiny universe I don't think the majority of us are treated the way you feel.
