So let me get this straight... you are complaining because every once in a while something new to earn pops up in game?
People complain about lack of content/repetition and being able to crush through everything quickly in year one. Year two comes along, they keep dropping in little surprises and new quest lines to keep earning new stuff and... people complain.
Who would want to work at Bungie eh?

Well if you think about it it really isnt Time Locking. For example the Sleeper, you needed to get the 4 FR drops. Then you could continue on. I know there was no GS Rank requirement but if Bungie made it, say a Rank 10. Or even 7. Thats 7 Weeks before being able to play it. Same with NTTE, perhaps Rank 3 of FWC would have activated the Final Part instead of just 1000 Rep. Thats still some time plus you did have to wait a week from the first Cult Ghost pickup. Anyways what I am saying is if Items/Exotics were put behind Rank Requirements or Random Item Drops Collections then people wouldn't be complaining. But because it is obvious that they set in a Times table of releasing things, people are mad. Also it is how they release them of why people are mad. Just random Day the item is released and if it is not done or you didn't make the requirement, as in nTTE collecting the Ghost last week, you wont be able to finish quest. Then you must wait some more. That is where Rank Requirements would've been better.

I think he means like you go gather a load of materials, hoping to get your sword, when suddenly you have to wait a week for armsday, or in the first curse questline, there are two week long gaps, really slowing down progress for no reason.

I guess I can see the point in that. I saw 'time gating' as things like the Sleeper and No Time to Explain. I dunno, I guess they have addressed the issue of being able to blitz all content within a week, even with waiting for arms day or equivalents. The problem comes if all available quest lines are waiting on such events at the same time. I think given how much they have got right this time around, such an issue is at best trivial in the great pantheon of Destiny problems but never the less, they are always listening...

Dude if you can't see all the positive changes I don't really know what to say to you. I know it isn't perfect and there are some issues but honestly, Bungie could get it a whole lot more right and people would still complain. I'm not defending anything, what I am saying is this community is impossible to please. They make mistakes, they listen, they make changes, some we agree with, some we don't, but it doesn't matter what is done you just cannot please everyone. Or anyone when it comes to this forum.

I can understand why this place might jade a person... I've been called everything under the sun for have an opinion. Any opinion really, just anything to say. A presence. Actually on here most people seem angry at anyone being alive at all. No harm done dude.

The time gate is to essentially keep us pointlessly playing the game. We think everything is there so we keep searching for it and just thinking we haven't found the secret that unlocks it. This kinda time gate purpose is cruel, it's only point is to keep us playing the same shit over and over until destiny 2 comes out

Depends why you play I guess. I play for fun. I just enjoy playing the game. So for me it's not pointless because I enjoy it for what it is. Or you could look at it that all recreational activities are basically pointless in which case, you are spot on.

Well they are basically trying to keep us playing to by time gating the content. Time gate is basically keeping the game on life support as we keep playing Destiny to get the rest of the exotics that were listed for TTK. I mainly play for fun which is why I tend to agree with time gated content to just keeping the game alive unnaturally
