Can we all agree that this is much, MUCH better than depending on pure RNG to give you a drop that you may never get regardless of how many hours you put in? Quit bitching. This system is a vast improvement. If they just handed you all these quests right off the bat you'd be done with them all already and be right back here complaining that you have nothing to do.
Yeah, yeah I know. "They're just trying to keep us playing blah blah blah." Well no shit, Sherlock that's what all game developers -blam!-ing want.
• Most devs keep you playing with content, not timegates. Bungie can remove timegates, and no one is saying they want RNG.

 • I've blown through most of the DLCs I've ever downloaded for other games in less time than it took to complete all of the story, side missions, and quests on one character in TTK and that's not taking time gated shit into consideration. And I still have plenty to do. If you're complaining about lack of content, then you don't get outside enough. There's never enough content to satisfy players that put a couple thousand hours into a game over the course of a year. Hell, there's rarely enough content in games to satisfy players that only put in a few hundred. What it comes down to is, if you play enough, you're gonna run out of shit to do regardless of what game you're playing. At least time gated shit gives us something to look forward to.

 • I blew through this expansion rather fast honestly, idk what DLC your talking about, but other games I had played like borderlands 2 had ample content and guess what; no timegates. I want to do these quests, I want to try these new exotics, but I can't, because Bungie has decided to restrict content arbitrarily. There is no reason why these timegates exist except to artificially lengthen the lack of content. With these exotics I could have had fun playing in the crucible until the next DLC. As a player since day one I could find things to do; goals to work towards, but now I don't. Had I the ability to acquire the gear I would be using it to have fun. Hell, there's rarely enough content in games to satisfy players that only put in a few hundred.
I haven't played TTK all that much, I have been to busy. How about you tell me this; how does removing content improve a lack of content? The answer is it doesn't.
What it comes down to is, if you play enough, you're gonna run out of shit to do regardless of what game you're playing. At least time gated shit gives us something to look forward to.
Why do we have to run out of shit to do on Bungie's time? Why can't We do everything at our own pace, when we want to do it? This doesn't make me feel exited about future promises, but cheated of content that should be there to begin with. Get 5 exotic chest engrams and acquire 5 Crests of Alpha Lupi, but if Bungie wanted I could've had the ability to get a hold of the Twilight Garrison, and then I could be dodging around in crucible and having fun. You may take ages to go through content, but the ones of us complaining don't. We move fast, we challenge ourselves, we get exited, we boldly move into things with no idea what is on the other side. Forcing us to wait to have fun is horrible. This artificial stretching of content just makes me want to quit destiny now, so early on since TTK release; makes people like me feel like our time could be better spent on games that let you have fun when you want it, instead of making the game feel like a job.

 • Doesn't feel like a job to me. Sorry you feel that way. But that's your own perspective. Mine is the game is fun and I don't NEED to have whatever time gated exotics they've got tucked away in my inventory to enjoy the experience. Also, those that complain the most are the vocal minority. The majority of us just play the game.

 • Pretty sure we would need a vote in order to discern whether or not the majority hate timegates, can't really make this claim without a test on the whole community.

 • Well you're not gonna get the whole community because the whole community doesn't use the forums. At best you'll get maybe 300-500 people that happen to be browsing the forums in the ~24 hours that the poll is popular. Polls mean absolutely nothing here. It'd be like the next president being decided by counting votes from only 1 state.
