So Our Friend Was Getting Bullied On-stream...
No video, but earlier today I was running the raid with a good group of friends. Everything was cool until we got to The Daughters. We ran through it really smoothly despite the problem. Here was the problem: one of my friends decided to stream it. And he had about 70 something people watching it at the time. Now here's the big kicker, his voice sounds like a 12 year old amped on sugar, and everyone began making fun of him about it. Some people started telling him that he'd never beat the raid, that he's trash and he should go back to bed, and pretty much any bad insult you could imagine. This made a lot of us angry. Our fireteam leader (name withheld in case of moderator attacks) started encouraging him. He kept him in the zone, made sure he ignored those guys and that he was calm. Now, here's one thing to consider: he's autistic. So he isn't very good in these situations. And no one in the chat knew that and they just kept being overall (pardon my language) dicks. And whenever he got worked up, he got really emotional and overreacted about every little thing. (Not in the angry kind of way, but in the more [b][i]fearing[/i][/b] scheme of things). We made him turn off the stream, and just kept going. But for that time, he didn't break, and he did fine. He calmed down, and he didn't give up. We never beat oryx, but we plan to kick him in the rear tomorrow.

It's ironic finding this post today. I was in Gamestop yesterday & witnessed a Mom shopping for her autistic son, who was probably in his mid-20s. They were talking about Star Wars Battlefront & how it doesn't have single-player. She was changing his pre-order based on that info because she didn't want him playing with a bunch of jerks. As unfortunate as it sounds, online competitive gaming is full of elitists & jerks, and finding a good crew is not easy. Sounds like you guys are a good support system for him & that's great. Tune out the negativity.

I may have never been in this position before, but i understand. I am a high functioning autistic. It hits close to see these kind of things. but it's good to know their are people who would help out, even if it's something like bullying.

Sorry to break the news to you but no one cares. This is how the world works, if you don't want to get bullied stay quiet so that no one notices you.

Totally commendable.... If he ever needs a hand and your all on ps3, add me, I would be more than happy to help ( I've beaten oryx a multitude of times). The individual person is intelligent and kind, people as a whole tend to be ignorant and mean. I have no patience for people and they would have heard an ear full.

They have the best heartfelt smiles, and can be the most amazing friend in someone's life. I'm very impressed that you all were able to help him in that stream, you all are wonderful people. I honestly can't stand those who enjoy bullying in any shape or form. Most of the asshats bully because they are filling an insecurity in their life. There should never be any reason to bully...ever. Tell your friend that I know he will kick oryx's butt and he will be one of the few who have....and to be proud. So many others still cannot. There's also a large chance they're the same age as the victim and just feel like being an evil little piece of shit to everyone round them. That or they're older. This is the same thing that happened to the Dames of Destiny in the bungie bounty a while ago just not as extreme.

My stepson has Apraxia, and has been tested several times over the passed few years, to see if he is spectrum or not. This post made me think about lil man, and how cruel people can be. (He was beat up in kindergarten for -blam!-'s sake) so bravo to you, bravo for helping your home boy keep his cool, and for loving him for who he is. This is how we're supposed to treat each other, and I respect the hell out of you for, not only, standing up, but the way you did it. Rather than counter attack, you buffed the defense. Well played.

They are all assholes, far too many little bullies around. A lot of them just do it as they have no life in reality and want to be a big man while hiding behind a firewall. I hope your pal manages to get oryx done.
