So Our Friend Was Getting Bullied On-stream...

No video, but earlier today I was running the raid with a good group of friends. Everything was cool until we got to The Daughters. We ran through it really smoothly despite the problem. Here was the problem: one of my friends decided to stream it. And he had about 70 something people watching it at the time. Now here's the big kicker, his voice sounds like a 12 year old amped on sugar, and everyone began making fun of him about it. Some people started telling him that he'd never beat the raid, that he's trash and he should go back to bed, and pretty much any bad insult you could imagine. This made a lot of us angry. Our fireteam leader (name withheld in case of moderator attacks) started encouraging him. He kept him in the zone, made sure he ignored those guys and that he was calm. Now, here's one thing to consider: he's autistic. So he isn't very good in these situations. And no one in the chat knew that and they just kept being overall (pardon my language) dicks. And whenever he got worked up, he got really emotional and overreacted about every little thing. (Not in the angry kind of way, but in the more fearing scheme of things). We made him turn off the stream, and just kept going. But for that time, he didn't break, and he did fine. He calmed down, and he didn't give up. We never beat oryx, but we plan to kick him in the rear tomorrow. TL;DR Our autistic friend was getting cyberbullied on stream, and we helped him through it.
Please don't leave any hateful comments. Thanks in advance.
• So you knowingly put a handicapped person in a situation that he couldn't handle? Then you tell the world about it. Wtf?

            • 70 viewers? No. Unless he is extremely established, that didn't happen.

            • It sucks that he was bullied. It really does. But you HAVE to know that this is the internet where anonymity makes people complete assholes. He also streamed it for everyone to see, which only invites more internet scum. Hate to say it, but welcome to the internet.

              • The thing about the Internet is that it'll turn cowards into heroes and has the power to kill people(In a way.). I hate people that cyber bully only because they're not saying it to the person's face, and can hide behind a screen while they say terrible things. Especially since the kid being bullied has autism. I really hope your friend gets better.:)

              • grats on the completion, and it sucks that there are some complete asshats in the world that can only derive pleasure from putting people down on the internet, just keep encouraging your friend and it will all work out for the best

              • Okay, that sucks. I used to work with mentally incapable folks and I don't condone bullying....BUT First, no one knew he was autistic when they tuned in. Second, your friend should definitely have a mod, especially if he's got 70 viewers. Third, if you're going to stream, you damn well better nut up and be ready to take some abuse. While I'm sure your friend feels awful about it, he did it to himself. And you, being his friend, should have given him a a heads up or told told him to cut the stream sooner.

              • Not to be rude or anything but if you can't handle insults and if you guys know he's autistic and not good in these situations, why let him stream in the first place? It's like a girl complaining about boys keep hitting on her on IG when her profile's public. Not everything has to be streamed or shown to the public. Some things, no wait, the majority of things should be kept private. Sure the guys who insulted him were dicks, but it's your and his fault he got into this situation.

                  • It seems to me thst being a streamer requires thjnk skin. That doesn't mean its ok, just that bullying is going to happen. Your friend is fortunate to supportive friends. • I imagine that's the price of putting yourself out there. Don't put yourself in the public eye if you don't want to be messed with. Sounds cruel, but its the way of the world right now. Tell your friend to just keep doing what he's doing and ignore it.
