The year one weapons looked and were too good, so Bungie decided to kill them and replaced them with blue cr*p. Also: Raid weapons are Necrochasm, just changed colour palate and distort it a bit.

Bungie is lazy when I come to making new weapons, ships, armour, etc. Most of the year one ships are just the same base but with different wings, or noses, and/or elevators. Some weapons are just little bits added on or removed. [spoiler]no land beyond forever[/spoiler]
