I remember all that. The Ram was a monster coupled with the Red Death. I stayed in B zone on the Cauldron the entire match, eating bullets and healing myself. I can see why they wouldn't bring it back. I think the Nothing Manacles had more OP than the Ram did. Sure, you get killed like anyone else but you can hold a corridor by yourself with the right armor perks and a high enough discipline.
