With all the Sunbreaker haters out there, I wanna see what Titan mains have to say about their subclass. [spoiler]y'know, i just remembered that curiosity did kill the cat[/spoiler] Edit: 50+ replies, keep 'em coming! The majority of you call for a slight armor nerf so more snipers and a GG shot can one shot it, which is pretty resonable. Edit 2: 100+ replies, let's keep going! Again, a lot of you call for the armor nerf, but I see some movement nerfs or Cauterize nerfs in there as well. Edit 3: Over 650 replies, holy crap. Again, as usual, armor nerfs take prevalence over all other suggestions. And to all not Titan mains, please revite accurately as to not screw with the poll. I seriously doubt less than 20% of voters are not Titan mains. Edit 4: STAP BLOWING UP MY PHONE PLZ But seriously, I'm glad to see so many people in this usually salty as -blam!- community being so positive and having polite debates. Shows we have hope for a few more years. Edit 5: Over 1,000 replies! Woot. Armor takes prevalance yet again, but some more movement speed during super nerfs have popped up here and there.   • I main a titan but enjoy playing on my other characters as well. If you haven't played any character other than your titan you need to give it a try. Only then will you understand how the HoS has no match. I will say it is unbalanced and anyone who says otherwise is in denial. I would only suggest a slight nerf. Lets keep this competitive.

  • Maybe armor should be reduced in super? To balance it out with cauterize. I'm not sure about duration being shortened, but if so, just a bit of damage boost or something

  • A perfect breakdown someone has made on how op sunbreaker is [quote]Golden gun deals 197 damage to a HoS titan. [b]Max out your armor and you will live.[/b] I hate Hammer of Sol because it's obscenely overpowered and makes Sunbreakers the top tier OP meta class. Normally this isn't a problem because I always use what's top tier when I want to win. BUT, I need crucible kills with warlock for grimoire reasons. EVERY TIME I lost a match of Iron Banner, it's because some guy on the other team (always came in 1st place, of course) used his hammer to take over zone B or steal heavy ammo, decimating my whole team and pulling into the lead. This will usually occur 3-4 times a match because Hammer of Sol = free heavy ammo = more kills = more Hammer of Sol. If you somehow fail to secure heavy ammo with the power of Thor... Then you either got multi-sniped (wow!), counter supered (only a few will work, and they're from unpopular classes), or you're a total scrub. Hammer of Sol is like Nova Bomb with [b]Shatter[/b] built in for FREE! To further sweeten the deal, you get to decide WHEN you throw your mini nova bombs and your super decreases at a snail's pace, allowing you much more time to close any gap. Combined with how small Destiny's maps are, [b]long range is never a problem[/b] for the non-hitscan hammers. With max armor, you can survive ANYTHING except a snipe from Black Spindle, Nova Bomb, or Fist of Havoc. Your super has a weak [b]Unstoppable[/b] built in for FREE! Forgemaster is basically [b]Annihilate[/b], but with a built in [b]Unstable Current[/b] effect (from Mask of the Third Man) for FREE! Flameseeker is basically [b]Angry Magic[/b] (making long range engagements more viable, too), but with more agility and recovery 'cause why not? Cauterize is basically [b]Hungering Blade[/b], but better. I haven't tested yet but I assume it works on all fire based attacks, including your grenades. Sunbreaker also gets the [b]best sticky[/b], the [b]best frag[/b], and [b]the best PvE melee[/b] (+50% damage, more DPS potential than Shadowshot! I used it with Ghorn for PoE annihilation.). Stroke the Forge is basically upgraded [b]Overcharge[/b] with a weak [b]Fast Twitch[/b] built in for FREE! It's obviously not a top tier PvP melee but... If you care about melees in this sniper/shotgun-fest of a game... Just no.

    • Let the damage reduction be tone down. And would say remove the health regen on hammer kills. These effects are only for pvp. Pve is fine as is.

    • Nerf the armour Keep the rest It has a little to much of everything in its super compared to the other classes. My Ward of Dawn takes two golden gun shots, not sure why Sunbreakers get to absorb the same amount as my bubble while on the move throwing multiple explosive homing health regenerating hammers

    • I've been saying since the beginning, all sunbreakers need is a [b]slight[/b] nerf to their damage reduction so that it can be killed by a high impact sniper. I've also survived a nova bomb before in my super animation and I don't think that should be possible

      • I now understand that Titan's need a slight decrease to damage reduction. Personally I'd say match it to the stormcaller.

          Hunter main and all I'm gonna say is that it shouldn't be possible to be killed by the same titan twice during its one super use. Limiting the number of hammers thrown would be an acceptable fix. I dunno say 3 like golden gun. Make an exotic that offers more, like I dunno symbiote helm. Now that's like Fox news, fair and balanced.

          • In my own opinion what breaks the super is the health return on kill we can have, it needs to be slower or just gone, it turns the flaming hammers into a wrecking ball.

            • My question is what is the difference between HoS and GG? Because gg was argued as one of the best pvp supers and many in year 1 wanted it to be looked at or nerfed soooo.....let's see. Gg you have to hit the guy, HoS you can be near and around someone for the kill. Gg has no armor, HoS has the most armor of any super. Gg can't regen health on a kill, HoS can. Gg has limited shots no matter how fast, HoS can throw as many as possible in a time frame (realistically like 6 hammers vs 3-4 shots) Gg has a better pvp melee (if you're good), HoS has one of the best pve melees (I say best, it's mainly if you run melting point which you have no reason not to) Gg has one good pvp grenade in the tripmine, HoS has a good pve grenade thermite and if you're good both have incendiary grenade. Gg can't get an overshield at any point, HoS can if spec'ed correctly. Now after all of that HoS is overpowered as -blam!-!!!! Ok so maybe not as -blam!- but still. I just don't know how anyone can argue. In the super there is only two ways to shut it down, 1.Shadowshot (and you have to be pretty good with it) or 2.the titan totally -blam!-ing blows and you get lucky. Now I understand you can beat a titan in HoS but you have to be really good. Personally I just run. Run for your life and stay in the air. It works, but that should not be the only answer. Now if you've read this far then you deserve a cookie. But I can't give you a cookie so instead I will give you my answer. First and foremost the armor needs to be that of a sunsinger or bladedancer. OHK headshot. But this next part is not my idea. I do not take credit. But this is my favorite idea because it isn't just "omg sunbreaker is so op remove it from the game or make them only have one hammer and make the blast smaller and take two hammers and blah blah blah" Remove the Titans mobility. When in HoS you lose sprint speed and double jump. However in the same perk as cauterize you add a new perk that gives you back your mobility. So now you have options, 1.you can go for being a tank. Tanks are slow but can flat out survive. Or 2.you go for mobility but you have to actually avoid fire to stay alive. This will give us options and new builds. This could also open up the option for a true sunspot build. I think this is the most interesting idea I have heard and could be very interesting , however I don't hold my breath.

              • As a day 1 titan, everyone says the armor is too much, that it takes 2 GG shots to take them down, but in reality it takes 2 GG shots from full health, today I had 75% of my health and got 1 shot from GG. So its a super that takes a team effort to over come, much like blade dancer. "But blade dancer was easy to counter, one melee and shotgun downed them" This is true enough, but since anyone using blink wore shotguns down to the nub they are now, its' your own fault of it. Shotgun melee still works, but you almost never get close enough because your ass got hammered. Fast fire rate shotguns do wonders as well, 4th horseman and invective are pretty good if you can get close to them. I think what alot of players don't get is the entire subclass, save for one tier of nodes, is dedicated to their super, so of course its going to be awesome. If they do nerf sunbreakers, the health regen is where I would start, and not to take it away. Just put some modifications to it, like they have to get a double kill to proc it. Meaning if your team spreads out enough, you can take one down easily.

                • They should make it so that the longer the hammer travels the more damage it does. Let me explain. So if I point blank hammer you, I do less damage and it would take somewhere between 2-3 hammers at point blank. But if I were to hit you say scout rifle distance you would die. This give players fighting the HoS more time to evade and if they are too close, a chance to fight back. Something like that. Everything else should be the same though. Maybe a small armor reduction but very minor, mainly because the Titan is supposed to be a walking tank. I don't want this super to be OP but I don't want it to suck either, it's the Titan's only real competitive class. The alternative is just to buff all the old classes. Also GG should be a one-shot. I also believe that the Sunbreaker isn't completely broken because the entire class focuses on the super. Just take a look at it and you'll know what I mean.

                    • Personally I think the recovery rate while in super should be lowered and the movement speed should be lowered. Think of it as a tank.

                    • Just limit the hammers and shut up. Every class can honestly be over powered if you know how to use it. Half of the people that are complaining are hunters with negative a kd. I use my hunter alot and i have no trouble when it comes to dealing with HOS, just shoot a damn arrow to the ground to stop the damn super and BOOM problem solved
