To keep Bungie development team employed.
If we are all happy with old gear, why would Bungie keep paying developers for new stuff?
Unfortunately for us, the "old stuff" seems to have been created w/ much more thought and taste than the new one. The folks just arriving in the game have no idea of what the old gear was capable of. Ignorance is bliss!
How much I miss Ice Breaker, Fatebringer...

[quote]To keep Bungie development team employed.[/quote] they don't do there job anyway what with locking content, removing content, producing missions by reusing old areas, not increasing the currently small areas, not fixing the bugs that still exist in the raids, not having social feature to help with forming a team IN GAME, having most of the story outside the game and lastly not listening to the community (the request for more weapon parts, which have been nerfed since we requested to have more readily available), but this could just be me.

I grinded so hard for the ice breaker... That moment in a nightfall was like... YES!!! THANK YOU RNG!!!! and now it means nothing (just a hand me down for new characters ;-;)

I was super happy with my Vanilla gear, but I still went WAY out of my way to get new gear when TDB and HoW dropped, so it pisses me off that Bungie probably doesn't get that...

Ice Breaker, Fatebring, Vision of Confluent, Fang of Ir Yut, Queenbreaker's Bow, etc. = BOSS AZZ WEAPONS!!!

Why not have the originals be upgradable and second year be completely different a thing of its own not bably copied shats?
