Because Year 1 is over. When Year 1 ended so did the Year 1 weapons. It is that simple. Why do you need your Year 1 weapons in Year 2?

 • This game is 80% year 1. Maps, strikes, exotics.... If it's over why is it the same stuff

 • Too bad, so sad. Maybe cry louder and Bungie will listen. Personally, I hope they continue to ignore asinine requests like "Bring all Year 1 guns to Year 2"

 • Why? Because you're Butthurt nobody agrees with you? Just another example why the government should not allow children to use the Internet. Should block you until you're 19

 • Maybe the government will ignore your asinine requests for Social Security benefits after you retire, seeing as how all the effort and money you put into it no longer matter in Life 2.0. Derp, your arguments are pathetically bad, man. Seriously, wow.

 • You assumption that I plan on relying on social security when I retire is almost as retarded as the request for Year 1 gear to e included in Year 2

 • Destiny is leaving the players and going for the money.... The same thing every game does they listen to a few whiners that can't excel and start changing the game instead of telling players to figure it out... But you shouldn't take what people have earned its my choice if I want to wear old gear because I like the stats and the look of my character... Not bungies

 • So wear your Year 1 gear. Go right ahead. You can wear Year 1 and still do all the Year 1 events. If you try to take Year 1 gear I to Year 2 activities of course you will be under leveled. At the heart of this issue is that people simply do not want to use new weapons (like primaries with no burn) because we know how much simpler this game is with top rated gear. Let me guess, you should be able to bring your Year 1 gear to Year 2 AND it should be max level already at 310 cause we already upgraded it right? Well wtf is the point in that? You get the best gear by completing the hardest parts of the game. You should not be "given" the best gear by completing old events or events that are not end game. PvP is not end game

 • Look at it if you want to upgrade year two gear you need gear with better stats so why is it so hard to remove burns from year one guns and make it so you can take your year one gear to higher levels that's what makes the game diverse so not everyone is running around in the same gear its about choices that's all I'm asking for is a chance to make my own choice

I specifically said I think Year 1 should be included in the Infusion system. That way, players would still need to play the new DLC, earn the new gear, and THEN be able to bring forward whatever gear WE chose. No one's asking to be "given" anything; we'd still need to GET 310 gear to infuse old gear TO 310, just like it currently works with everything in TTK.

 • Not what I'm saying make it the same as year two gear where you have to infuse it to bring it to higher levels make it so you can still use it but have to work to get it up there like what they did with PoE

 •
Because Year 1 is over. [...] Why do you need your Year 1 weapons in Year 2?
So what if Year 1 is over? Why the hell does that I can't keep using my gear? Should they remove the old raids? Should they remove all the old strikes? Should they remove all the Crucible maps? Because, based on your argument, if Year 1 is over, why do you need your Year 1 activities in Year 2?

 • You can't use Year 1 gear because it is Year 2. What more of an explanation do you need? There are more than enough new weapons to replace what has been left behind. Yes, the old activities should be phased out as we continue to move forward with Year 2. As more DLCs come out I hope to see VoG, TDB, and PoE be replaced with new activities.

 • Why does it even matter to you if they allow people to use year one gear? Why do you feel you have to take something away from someone else when it has no effect on you? Defending this ridiculousness when it doesn't actually impact you makes me think you are just being a fan boy.

 •
Why do you feel you have to take something away from someone else when it has no effect on you?
Spot on, man. I don't know why people can't understand the concept of CHOICE. If they want to use all new gear, that's TOTALLY awesome; I just want to be able to use what I WANT.

 • If we shouldn't use year one weapons because it's year 2, then I would like to see the same principle applied to the reused maps and reskined enemies. This is not destiny 2.

 • So when they said "expanding the game with new stuff" they really meant was," we're replacing everything in year one and should have just made a new game (destiny 2) instead of calling this a dlc"

 •
You can't use Year 1 gear because it is Year 2.
You keep repeating that, but that doesn't mean anything. Repeating it again won't change that. This is still the same game. "Year 2" doesn't mean shit, because YEAR 1 AND YEAR 2 ARE ARBITRARY DIVISIONS OF TIME. What I am saying is that there is no reason that Year 1 needs to get left behind.

 • Actually it means exactly what is being stated. Year 1= Year 1 gear. Year 2 = Year 2 gear. Yes some Year 1 gear came into Year 2 that Bungie thought would fit well with the Year 2 model. Yes I agree with the stance that a new year should primarily mean new gear. New weapons, new armor, new everything - which is what happened. Kiss your Year 1 gear bye bye. But I'm sure you will hang on to it for the next 8 years bitching about your lack of vault space
