Can we get a Library in the Tower?

I think it would be a cool place to hang out and read grimoire cards and lore. Heck you could even have quests where you go scavenging for golden age literature. 😊 The responses have been overwhelmingly positive! Thank you guys!! Please use the #Library tag to advocate for this if you have a minute. 🙌

  • I would like to be able to approach the speaker's bookshelf given an option that says "Hold X for Grimoire". You could read all the grimoire cards, even go back and watch all the cutscenes.

  • You know, I was thinking they needed a way to access Grimoire in-game, but it never struck me to make it a Library at the Tower. That makes perfect sense, considering the Tower is called a "Social Space," and yet, there's no reason/way to be social at it.

    • They should explore the relationships between Lord Saladin, Shaxx, Cayde and Ikora too.

    • This idea is age old and I love it. I understand that you can go places on the webernet. But it would be nice to have it in game...so you still feel like you are playing rather than researching if that makes sense.

      • Wow, suddenly I must have this. Some candles in the corner, heck man, throw in a coffee shop. We could call it: Crota's Mochas... Slow clap emote

Instead, how about having the card info available to read anywhere in-game, similar to in the mass effect games? I think bungie mentioned about the cards in-game a short while ago, but I think it's a memory issue, maybe especially for last-gen consoles. I reckon it might get sorted in the sequel

        • Must have Lord Shaxx near the New Monarchy patio fire-pit, he can be the Narrator.

        • I want this. Maybe by finding things in the world the more the library expands. You could go on patrol scan things, and it would say item added to archive. Maybe have things like legend missions, where you step into the boots of the characters of the destiny mythos. Saint-14, Toland the Shattered, Praedyth, Kabr, the iron lords. The list goes on.

        • Would be great but it would be easier just to have a built in log sheet in the start screen so that you wouldn't have to go to the tower to see a new grimoire card, you could just check it the minute you acquire it.

        • There's a small door under the Speaker, I feel like that would be a perfect place for it

Put it in the reef. There's almost no point in going there now anyway. Put an in-game LFG there while you're at it.

        • This would be a great way to incorporate grimoire into the actual game. Also they could put in some consoles where you can do ingame lfg! Bump

        • This is a next gen game right? These guys are so lazy. Hell all 3 mass effects had huge in game codex and all the important ones you could click a button and it would be read to you. Sad thing is mass effect didn't even need a codex. The story itself was so rich

          • Also a sub-note to the people who don't like the cards as a source of story. Not promoting the system or agreeing with it here. Just my thoughts on it. In the game you wake up after hundreds of years being dead "you're going to see some things you won't understand". So in that situation, in real life, you wouldn't have a clear history book to read from to find out what happened. Most records were lost with the collapse. You pick up pieces (g-cards) here and there in your travels that provide a small portion of history. The point of if all being accessed through the app and online is to give the feel of a virtual database where you can also connect with other gaurdians who are scattered everywhere (forums). In that type of future you would think a technology of that sort would exist anyway though directly expressed in the game. I, personally, don't like having to use my phone to read little quips of history that I have to piece together myself. I think there should definitely be a library/archive IN-GAME to visit. There should be a custodian there that will, not unlike the cryptarch, take the cards you have found/earned and piece then together for you and give you an in-game book to read that will explain a particular point in time, the history of a location, or an actual layout of how the battle of the twilight gap went. And they will be archived as such (ex. Title: The History of The Vault of Glass). There could be, maybe not a quest but, at least something that says, "collect 50 grimwoire from killing fallen vandals in the cosmodrome.". Or, "collect all cards from the crota's end raid". To get each book. That way people have more to play for rather than just grinding for gear. You will be grinding for knowledge and actual story. Just my thoughts. Sorry it went a little long for those of who don't read long posts. But if you do read then I think you'll like my idea if you stick around.

            • Bump. They could actually revise the bar/lounge under the future war cult rep in the hanger bay to be a library/archive of sorts. No one goes and hangs out down there.. Especially not for the music. It's the most unused part of the tower

            • for starters, you are assuming that everyone can read. I, for one, cannot read and do not like this idea.
