Shindig in the Crucible - Advice? **Update: Bounty Completed**

**UPDATE** 10/18/2015 I finally completed this quest, and I'm now waiting on Tex Mechanica to deliver the shotgun. I'd like to thank everyone here who offered their advice and experiences. It made the grind a lot more tolerable lol. Best of luck to all who strike out to get this bounty done, for the more average joes/janes out there, it's going to be a pretty tall order. ************************** I need some advice on how to use TLW effectively now that it's been hit hard in its range department. I wasn't exactly an avid user of the gun in PvP prior to 2.0 so I know my lack of success is mostly due to my poor understanding of how to use the weapon effectively in PvP (Most of my kills with it are from PvE) combine that with my less than average performance in PvP as a whole, and it's not exactly a winning strategy. I have decent gun skill and I do moderately well when running around with Hawkmoon. I have an idea of the strengths and weaknesses of TLW. I try to stay out of 2v1 fights, but it seems to be extremely difficult to do so. Someone suggested that I don't hold the trigger when fan firing, and instead pace my shots when firing from the hip by individually firing each shot with a fresh pull of the trigger (you only have 8 shots, have to make them count). I tried a round of control with it, and that wasn't going so hot (Constantly getting out gunned by pulse rifles, auto rifles and sniper shotguns when I'd try to get in close enough to take advantage of TLW) managed a .91 KD which is just bloody awful (We won the match, but only just) I was reading elsewhere that perhaps going into rumble would be a good plan, but seeing as I struggle with rumble as it is when I'm using weapons I'm comfortable with, I can't see myself doing much better with the gun when running around in a game mode full of try hards and sweaties (no offense) Does anyone have some suggestions on how to use this gun effectively now? How close is close range exactly these days?

  • For this quest, you only need to have it equipped when you are playing. Sniping from the back of the map will count, as will melees, grenades, heavies, and supers. If you are a run-and-shotgunner, that will count. I just use TLW when i run out of ammo for my other weapons.
