The cabal emperor, savathun, xivu arath, quria of the vex, house of kings kell, possibly uldren or Mara sov. If they take the game in the direction that I am thinking and we end up freed from the traveller and the traveller starts taking over guardian's free will, then we could end up fighting ikora Rey, zavala, cayde 6, and the speaker. We could fight the nine, and that could really be anybody since we know basically nothing about them. We could also fight Rasputin or other warninds. Eris could also be a boss. The traveller and the darkness could be super bosses. The worm gods. They might do this thing where we end up fighting the corrupted remnants of races that the darkness has corrupted, like the ecumene race or the races of the harmony. These races could appear as future taken enemies, or merely shells of the ecumene race that have been filled with darkness energy. They are described as angels so that could be an interesting thing to see! Taox could be a boss. So could variks, in theory. But they all pale in comparison to the REAL boss of the series...THE BROOM SWEEPING ROBOT!

  • My understanding comes from the book of sorrows (posting this prior to what I say, also to day without saying spoilers) The worm gods seem like a physical representation of the deep, which I believe is the darkness. And the traveler and leviathan directly opposed the deep. The ahamkara possessed similar descriptions to the worm gods, perhaps being another host to the worm gods or representation of the deep itself if not the same thing as the worms. Toland believes that the darkness is the final state, meaning the worm gods are either physical representations of that final state or direct servants. Were I to guess, near the end of their Destiny plans, our guardian learns of the sword logic and the darkness and the greater plan, possibly following in the dark footsteps of the three sisters, or possibly finding a remnant of Toland to direct them. That would make the leviathan, or possibly taox a great boss to battle, but through sword logic, the dark guardian could re-acclaim to the light. Thus the guardian would know some greater secretive info about both sides by that logic, and possibly defeat or forever halt the darkness, or perhaps even turn on the traveler.

  • These are cool theories. I agree that the darkness follows sword logic. Basically, the darkness has achieved what toland has described as the perfect shape, which is that nothing in his universe exists without him willing it. That's why the darkness is attempting to pass into our dimension, since he has already conquered everything in his own dimension. The way I see the future story, both the traveller and the darkness have to die in order for our universe to be free again and mankind to control its own destiny. The traveller is sleeping now, but once it wakes up, it will attempt to control our will, which it might be able to do since we are resurrected beings filled with his light. I figure that uldren or Mara sov along with Rasputin are predicting this and already have a plan in place to free the guardians from the traveller, which probably involves doing something to the ghosts.

  • Perhaps the traveler has something to do with it, or has some vex tech for time travel to an extent, and communicates with a future Rasputin? It would at least explain why she disregards the ghost as a little light.
