How do you figure that the guy with the higher kd will win the gun battle?

Because he kills more and dies less than the other guy.

That's irrelevant. K/D does not equal gun skill. I have a 2.2 on COD, and I'm shit, I just sit in a corner behind 2 claymores with a LMG. Some people with a high kd have gun skill. Some with a low kd have gun skill. Some have a low kd and no gun skills. I'm the latter.
