This means that we have come nowhere near killing Oryx, what we did in the raid was akin to shattering the crystal that had Crota's soul in it. To finally kill Oryx, we need to pull a Crota raid for Oryx, meaning that we need to fight him in his throne world. AKA Heroic King's fall Raid. (Hopefully)

  • We did actually kill Oryx, he is factually dead - he transformed his Throne World in to the Dreadnought.

  • The Dreadnaught was his Throne World.

We did fight him in his throne world. Because of Crota letting Vex in by accident Oryx pulled his throne world into reality and anchored it to the dreadnaught to make it more secure. His throne world is the dreadnaught. Reading the oryx: defeated card confirms his death

  • His throne world may be the dreadnaught, but i believe the walls of the ship are the limit, when we fight him, we are pretty much in space. I say that because we can see Saturn, and when he is "killed" he just floats away. his sisters are still able to resurrect him probably, he isn't permanently dead.

  • It's very possible we could see the return of oryx at a later point. Oryx was able to resurrect his/her sisters during monumental victories by doing it through their image. Essentially called their essence back into being.

  • I'm 90% sure that that is his throne world, where we killed him. In the mission "regicide" we killed his physical form, which is why he came off as weak compared to his near god-like raid form. A Hive throne world is what he makes of it. Crotas throne world was just weird. Oryxs is his dreadnought.

  • As above, I believe that the walls of the ship are the limit to the throneworld, read the comment I made below to find my while reasoning.

  • You mean we have to pull our Ethernet chords on Oryx?

  • The Dreadnought was Oryx's throne world so his death was real. His sisters could revive him though through an act of extreme inquisitiveness.

If he was dead in the throneworld, there would be no resurrection possibility. As i said to the person above, i think that the walls of the dreadnaught are the limits of the throne-world, and we fought him out in space with Saturn as the backdrop, that may not count as "in" the throne-world but out the backdoor. i believe that now we trapped him in his throne-world (inside the dreadnaught) and the heroic raid extends into the throne-world. The reason i think all this is because if Oryx could be revived from anywhere, I think that Crota would be back at some point by having an act of lost hope happen, either by Oryx, or Oryx's sisters. And until that happens, I'm inclined to believe otherwise. Also it would mean that Oryx would have little reason to come to our system in the first place. If Crota could come back, then Oryx wouldn't be too inclined to finish what Crota started. Just pluck Crota out of oblivion and put him back. So if Crota is done for, then if Oryx was killed in the throne-world then there is no bringing him back, otherwise we didn't kill him in the throne-world, and we more or less banished him there for now.
