yeah I spent a good hour+ on this farming stage of the bounty [i]with the nightstalker's node highlighter perk active[/i] and got a whopping 4 of these crystals, so the node highlighter definitely helped, but if theres a way to get 6 more of them in less than an hour then I'd be good...

You either do not have the exotic sword quest... Or... You are not at the material collection part yet. Spirit blooms, relic iron, helium, spinmetal...? Do you really think that's what it's going to take? By the time I had collected the mats for the Dark Drinker, I added another 238 relic Iron to my collection. NONE of the 10 crystals would've come from chests if I had opened any. I am going to try and get the arc sword for the bolt caster to Banshee later today. NOT looking forward to the mats collection part of that one! From looking up the sword quests... I may have done good by picking out the hardest one first. Everyone seem to think those crystals are a real bass turd to find. Should make the others quite easy (still going to be tedious though). :) Other than that, I assume you intended it to be read in the voice of Variks. I did. It was HILARIOUS!!! :)

yup as variks i thought yoda at first but then went for variks (the horrible chest infection sound doesnt come across in text lol) and i have the void sword (290 attack) and slowly when i can be botherd working through a sword refoged quest atm im at step 3 defeat ecthar and on my titan (my primary class from day one ) i have 205 relic iron and another 600 or more i think on my other 2 classes so ill find out as and when i get there what needs to be done .

Well Hell!!! You main a Titan and I main a Hunter! THAT explains the tension. :) I never even thought about Yoda. That's a pretty good fit also. Anyway... The iron you already have will not matter! Sucks, but true. :( You have to go to Mars and collect Relic Crystals (for the Dark Drinker sword). I'll put the rest in a spoiler, if you happen to want to read on... :) [spoiler]When you get to the the Estchar step (where you're at now), fight as normal until you get to the chamber with the three Boomers. Work the Boomers down until each has VERY low health. Once all three are low enough to "one hit kill", get them all into view and use whatever means necessary to kill them rapidly. That will open the door. I used Truth at 295 attack. Once you get to the boss, take out everything in the area. Get your sword ready and go after him with it. IIRC, I was able to get 6 swats at a time before having to retreat and recover. The next step will involve the 500 ability kills and planetary materials (Relic Crystals for the Dark Drinker). I did the ability kills part at The Dark Beyond for 4-5% per run. I have gotten REALLY tired of "We've woken the Hive!" Chests will not give the crystals, gotta collect them from Relic Iron out in the open. If you have a ghost that highlights Relic Iron... USE IT! Make life much easier. That, combined with any sniper rifle will fairly easily help point out deposits to go check out. I've seen reports of people getting as good as 10 to 1 (1 crystal for every 10 relic iron). Mine sucked pretty bad at 23 to 1. :( Once done with that mess, take the results to Banshee and wait for the next Armsday. Looks like the REAL fun happens at the next step (Will find out this Wednesday) :)[/spoiler] Good luck with it. I am in orbit right now getting ready for another IB match. Working on Guardian kills for the Arc Bolt now. I still have hopes of picking up both Dark Drinker and Arc Bolt swords from Banshee on Wed. Well, not the swords themselves (I don't think). The final step to get them. I doubt it will line up good enough to do the final battle and get both swords at the same time... Who knows.

ta for the info i already knew about the boomers its just a case of when i can be botherd. i normally rush all 3 classes through the ib but my other 2 are only lvl 34 and having seen the rewards from ron banner i decided its not worth it as tbh there a bit poo compaired to year one where the armour etc seemed to be sorta in the middle more than strikes/nightfall but less than raid and i only ran through it for etheric light , ok ok there was also grinz doing it aswell lol. and as for tension betwixt hunter and titan classes theres none here as i have all 3 classes and the throwing knife is fun unless your on the pointy bit. btw any advice on the jolly holliday bounty its driving me mad i get 1 percent then zero 5 percent then 1 percent then zero AAAAAAAAARGH sorry but im a bit ocd like that i hate to leave stuff unfinished thats why im running through the story again from abandonded quests ...........yes i know its sad its also why i dont bother with raids as ill just get so annoyed with randoms and bad connections from them ffs and remember theres bungLe and the cancer that is activision but above all and this is what we all need to push forwards .......... there is the GAMER NATION one nation to game , have fun , enjoy and help other gamers noobs or vets ha ha ha i nearly slipped on the V for vengance mask there. but good luck in your quests.

Jolly Holliday quest? Umm... NOPE! I just now Googled it. Heard about it, but wasn't real interested due to the crucible requirements. With having a lifetime crucible of 0.26 on my Hunter and 0.59 on the Warlock (haven't stepped in yet with the Titan), I don't think I will be attempting that one anytime soon. :) Only reason I go in is because of a quest. That one looks a bit tougher than I am capable of doing. I like pve, but I may have to step the playtime in pvp. I'm learning some on this "go round" of IB and it's a little more fun now.

for pvp i use weps with high stability both ib and crucible atm i run paleocontact and suros (always been an ar fan) my next will be bad juju special is invective or ice breaker map depending on these choices my heavy is either the smolder launcher or ruin wake this is as to close joldiers hammer that i have found it has low recoil but hits hard but has a bigger mag than joldiers there are diff varients out there and i think that year one guns are hidden in rng aswell as i have got the revelator (HoW) hand cannon with 271 attack which is yr 2 stats now and control is by far imho the best game mode as all the others i seem yo end up with red bar ppls that just ruin the game

I've been running TLW at 280 tonight. It's been fun, but is lacking some power (not to mention my ability to hit everything except the enemy :P ). I just bumped it to 289 and will make a couple runs with it. Suros is on my Hunter atm. It sits at 294 right now. I did good with it while working on the Dark Drinker. I may give it a whirl in a bit. As far as specials go. I'm somewhat at a loss with those. Ran a shotgun of some kind (not invective) for working the Dark Drinker quest. I may also move it over. Been trying a couple different fusion rifles without much success. As much as I LOVE my beloved Ice Breaker, I have never tried it in Crucible. For heavy... I have to stick with the sword for tonight (at least until I'm done with that part). I do have a nice looking Ruin Wake for future use. I bet that 23 kd got some other players pretty hot under the collar! I know camping (as well as sniping) really pisses some people off. I have been a victim of it a few times myself. I just laugh it off. If it gets the job done? More power to ya'! Enjoy the game!

iv got a 300 fusion rifle but i rare use it on the newer maps the invective is good as the maps are smaller and you dont need to chase ammo crates all game i have a few shotties which i swap about map/quest depending one is full auto another doesnt use ammo from your supply when im in the ward of dawn. as for the ice breaker i use it on twilight gap , eris mons in both normal crucible and ron banner and had some good matches with ppl doing the same as me and useing the exact same tactics both sniping each other many times we have both fired at the same time and both head shotted each other and both died ha ha ha and have you noticed that they both nerfed and buffed the ice breaker by increasing ammo regen time but also returning ammo back to the gun as for tlw i cant get any kills with that though im hoping its just lack of experience as i prefer an ar (ex cod player here) and as i said i always go for high stability as theres no point throwing lead down range if your hitting everything apart from the person that your aiming at. the gally is still viable in pve though against taken not as good but the wolf rounds still take out minions when you fire at taken ultras and i use a launcher (one with tripod so i get 6 rounds and not 4) on twilight gap as its good for getting into zone B as the enemy is capturing it iv had many triple kills doing that even though im doing the exotic sword quest i dont use it that much in pvp dont ask me why as i guess it could be useful on some maps and i play control as the iron banner is control.

Hadn't really thought much about the year one exotics still being viable for Crucible. It does make sense after thinking about it though. I gave Suros a shot last night and switched back to TLW half way through the IB match. I might've screwed up by filling in the "slower rate of fire / higher damage" perk though. I will need to see about getting another one either by drop or from the kiosk, just to use for Crucible games. Mine is at 293 and my TLW is at 289. I was consistently able to get MUCH better (and quicker) damage and kills with TLW. Kind of odd, considering I am also a huge fan of AR's and never really cared for hand cannons! I was wondering why people were whining about the Ice Breaker nerf when it happened. Wasn't it only an additional second per round? Not a big deal at all for PvE players. Again... after thinking about it, it could easily be life or death in Crucible. I really enjoyed the Gally for a long time and can see it's use in Crucible. Once I leveled up Y2 Truth... I have simply left the Gally in the vault. The tracking is insane on the Truth!!! I think I may continue to use one of the swords (especially after getting the exotic versions) for some of the "cozier", ( ie, up close and personal :) ) maps. It seems like a good fit for me. As far as using it in Control (my favorite pvp so far)... I'm not one of the idiots willing to hurt the team by trying to go on a killing spree by using just the hilt. They need to keep that crap in Rumble! I would stick to primaries and specials until Heavy Ammo was available. If I got some Heavy... That sword would come to life! If not, I would (somewhat dissapointedly) keep the hilt sheathed and just concentrate on trying to win the match. To kind of get back on topic... :) Last night I turned in the Arc Sword section to Banshee and I am in the middle of the solar ability kills and finding the mats for the Solar Sword. GOOD LORD! I though the relic hunt was tedious! I got lucky and managed a 12 to 1 with the spinmetal hunt. So far I am at 18 to 1 with the mats from helium. They just seem spread out much further than the relic mats were. I'm also handling the ability kills a little different and actually having a "hilt fest" (in PvE) to bring up that part. Simply swing the sword around until you are down to one swing and use that up via "guard". I guess that changes the hilt somehow to see it as ability kills? I don't know, but it works. If all goes well, I should have all three turned in and ready to give the 300 Sunless Cell a shot after tomorrow. I have to leave on a business trip in the morning. SUCKS!!! I actually may not be able to play through the weekend. It all depends on the internet availability tomorrow evening. To be sitting on the final step of 3 exotics knowing I might not even be able to attempt getting one of them until Monday morning? I hate 1st world problems sometimes. ;)

Remember that levels matter in IB but not in normal crucible control etc. I presume that includes weapons levels so you can use lower-number weapons on regular crucible and it evens it out vs others. .. bit IB doesn't so it's more important to use higher-number y2 gear there.

Yeah, I was cranking up the power for IB. It makes sense that I could go with lower power equipment that I'm used to for normal Crucible. I just hadn't thought about it. I'll have to dig back into the vault for the next trip into Crucible. Although... I am really liking some of the Y2 gear I've been picking up. :)

i cant believe what i have just done .............gutted i forgot to equip tlw then went 15-0 with my ruin wake ffs scuse me while i go outside and scream and swear at the world b@lls though on the upside i stuck a grenade on someone on a section below me and he ran off and actually got pretty far before he went boom (bet that confused the t1ts off him lmfao) and getting the badge "get it off!" always makes me smile

Ok? Why depressed for not having TLW equipped? Just curious. I bet that was pretty funny looking. I've been stuck a few times and it's confusing to me EVERY time for a few seconds.
