It's the same obsession that comes from reading fiction novels. Nothing wrong with him enjoying it.

  • True to a point. But there comes a point when getting overly attached to fiction is weird

  • I disagree, our minds perceive the world in a manner that is similar but utterly unique from those around us. Now for one to immerse themselves within fiction is not weird, it is quite the opposite really. For the human mind to truly grow one must open his eyes to the real and the fantasy so that he may properly differentiate betwixt the two. The bible and every other religious text are viewed as works of fiction in the minds of many, yet countless others still follow the teachings blindly. Its nice to escape reality once In a while (I'm really into writing if you haven't noticed)

  • Well I, nor anyone here is "overly attached" just for caring about the fiction. It's not like we're going about our real lives behaving as though this stuff is real, so I find your comments very weird. When your friends are discussing the plot of a movie they love, do you feel the need to point out that it didn't actually happen?
