it's probably got more to do with the relics you find that resemble the pocket, my guess it's going to be an exotic relic drop that you turn into the gunsmith to trigger a memory for a quest line to get the sleeper. Just a guess though.

Have to hit oryx with it on hard mode and be the guy to get the kill shot with the pocket for a chance to get the drop
