There is a big problem, why grind for new gear if your going to use the same old gear, They want u to actually want to play the game.

But we are just grinding for the same old gear, look at Imago Loop cough**fatebringer**cough
-
If they want this issue to go away they will need to make new better weapons. Just because it dose more damage does not mean it is a better weapon. Look at the people that grinded for faitbringer and ghorn. There was a reason to. Give me one gun other than the touch of malice that anyone wants to have in this game now?

Simple. Infusion.
-
You can't infuse year 1 stuff.
-
That would be a good reason to play. To infuse year 1 gear. I know you can't. But it should have been made possible. People would still play and grind and there would be no complaining about not being able to keep the weapons.
-
Because grind mills are the most ass form of content to inflict on players?
-
Don't mind grinding for a defined goal (customisations) but we have to grind for rng bullshit which is mostly depressing...

Edited by XTempistX: 9/30/2015 8:39:39 PMIf I find something better, I'll replace what I have. I have 4 weapons from Vanilla, 9 weapons from TDB, and 12 weapons from HoW. I have plenty of new weapons that I like but I shouldn't be forced to only use the new weapons. Why can't I effectively use the other half of my arsenal? I could understand if they said all HoW weapons will not able to be infused due to weapons reforging but all the other drops where RNG, just like how weapons are dropping now and we should be able to infuse those. Use the Etheric Light idea and make those mandatory for year one weapons on top of what year two weapons need for infusing. If they don't want raid old weapons to be king, cap them off at 240 so they have maximum effectiveness for lv36 strikes. It'll then be the player's choice to use them on other activities at the cost of some light. The way it is now, I go from 297 light to 250 with a full year one weapon load out while using year two armor. Can't do weekly heroic, nightfall, or King's Fall with that load out so I only load myself out like that for PvP but when IB comes around, I can't use the weapons I am most comfortable with because of light level. None of this is right.

You can use the old weapons, they will just suck. And that's the way it should be, New gear, new loot, new content.
-
So if in the next DLC, they say TTK weapons will be at cap and you have to get new gear to keep being effective, how will that sit with you? The system they have in place will allow players to keep using gear they have from TTK for the next nine years. Are you going to change sides or keep going with this forced grind instead of making your own choices?
-
Because I grind for new armor and new exotics. Legionaries, I want them to be what I want to use.

This, your gun is your life!

Edited by El Penguino: 9/28/2015 3:13:46 PMI agree that there is a problem, but there are always people loyal to there weapons. Me and my Epitaph have never left each other's sides since the first week destiny has come out.

They should still add an option to infuse the old gear and make it cost a lot of glimmer and legendary marks. I grinded for so long to get my year one guns
