So as a person new to the raid ive been looking to find a raid group and I came across a disturbing trend. People with no experience are DEMANDING only to raid with groups that have experience. it goes a little something like this
new to raid have 2 people a titan and a hunter. need 4 people with raid experience and have beaten oryx only. message me.
Seriously? so now people without experience are demanding experienced raiders? no wonder no one will take new people in. if you don't have experience you shouldn't demand that you have a group that has beaten oryx. you are at the bottom of the barrel. take what you can get.

tbh thats tame... wait a month... "touch of malice only" just wait for it mate, just wait for it....
-
This is why I have a core raid group :D

Edited by blackclover01: 9/28/2015 5:36:53 AMAm i seriously the only one who sees how this whole thing is one huge catch 22?
-
I've seen people demand 300+ light level, experience, AND the motherphucking emblem! This shit is ridiculous!
-
That problem existed in VoG/Crota too, those people eventually relaxed their requirements because generally people avoid you if you can't even meet your own requirements.
-
Edited by Kuromugi: 9/28/2015 4:54:20 AMI also notice a huge trend of, people who have "beaten" the raid. But haven't done anything besides Oryx. Sadly I'm not lucky enough to be part of a dedicated raid team so I have to rely on LFG for invites, and that's only when people have the decency to respond. I've only gotten as far as the Sisters before everyone leaves, and it takes forever to find new people, because everyone is bad and impatient.
-
If you can't pass your own requirements then how can you expect others to pass them.
-
I would at least take in two to three noobies and teach them the ropes. Thing is there is not a lot of good leaders to teach these things, as well as most people do not have the time.
-
There is a reason that people do that. They most likely put in the little bit of effort to research the fights on Youtube, or whatever they decided to research on. Most people don't even put in that little bit of effort. People can have any requirements they want, you can always make your own group, and if there is someone that is more experienced than you, you can always promote them to leader and let them take over. My suggestion, make your own group, find decent players, whether they're new to the raid or not, just ask that people at least research and put in the little bit of effort to look up strategies, and you should be fine.

i get where you're coming from and LFG is a cluster-blam!- of stupidity, but I also get that maybe you shouldn't look at it as "demanding" as they are looking for something specific, a person that is experienced at how to beat the raid to chaperone them. now i feel you 100% in that it does get ridiculous when everybody is asking for stupid standards to play with them. I have more objection to, one people that are mostly experienced that won't go with one inexperienced player. Because we did that on Vault of Glass hard early on and had no problem. Like I literally didn't know it was the guys first time doing Vault of glass at all until we got to Atheon and it came up in chat banter. The other thing i have an issue with is the flip side of that, the idiot can't follow orders can't be a team player first time player, that makes experienced players not want to deal with you.
-
Yeah. I hate people asking for 295 light plus emblem. And they're 286 with no oryx completions. I just do a quick grimoire check to see if they're beaten the raid and to see what I'm getting into
-
I would never play with someone who hasn't played the raid yet unless they are my friends. It's just too much explaining.
-
Make your own group. Period. Every day same shit post with the same damn replies.
-
I have seen more than one post like yours, complaining about other people demanding high light level etc. Why not create a new thread and gather everyone who are new and go for a fresh run?
-
Make your own post and build your own team why is that so hard for ppl
-
When and if I do the raid, I'd rather spend hours trying and failing with a group of friends than watching YouTube videos for hours just to meet the requirements of some elitists who will kick me from the fireteam at the first mistake, no matter how slight.
-
Edited by OmegaDark56: 9/28/2015 3:17:27 AMI actually met my raid team through LFG. Met up with 5 randoms (3 in a clan and 2 solo players). We wiped on golgoroth maybe 3 times then the clan goes to play crucible and one of the randoms left so me and the other guy used LFG to find a team looking for 2. After joining these guys we beat oryx less than an hour later and have cleared the raid 6 times this week just helping out friends and having fun. I know this isn't typical in LFG but just keep looking.
-
Yeah this is really pissing me off. I join groups and not a single person has emblem.. Then I try to carry... Ughhhg
-
This has been the case since trials. A bunch of idiots only willing to be pulled through something i haven't beat the raid, because obvious reasons: i have no experience and my light level is only 296. That's not enough to find a group on lfg anymore. A-holes
-
Hahahah I've seen the same thing. In recruitment I'll see someone who doesn't have grimoire unlocked and their requirement is "must have beaten it before" HAHAHAHAHAHA. As quickly as we all wanted to beat the raid, getting carried ruins it.
-
Yea drives me crazy especially when they don't know the mechanics and don't speak up
-
Match making needed
-
I saw one today asking for at least 3 raid completions
-
So post your own and make a group. God people complain about anything
-
For my first time I joined a group, didn't tell them it was my first time, kept my head down and my mouth shut and concentrated on not causing wipes. Picked up the mechanics on the fly. I haven't beaten Oryx yet due to time constraints but I'll get it down next week. If it goes horribly wrong just leave or get kicked, not like you have to play with those randoms again.

I just take the simple way out. Watch endless guides on every stage of the raid. Master them mentally. Post on LFG saying I AM in fact experienced. LOLOLOL Free raid group!
