These were all converted into commendations - 50 marks per commendation. Each commendation gets 125 rep for faction and 250 for vanguard when deleted. Check your inventory on each character.

Edited by BallisticsMC: 9/27/2015 9:15:04 AMYeah that's not even a very good exchange at all considering marks purchased actual equipment, and rep doesn't get you anywhere closer to buying an item from any factions except for raising your rank. If you're already at rank 3 commendations do nothing for you. My suggestion still stands that Bungie should give players some legendary marks, at least 15-20 would be acceptable. I mean the rep IS helpful, but it doesn't make feel better about the fact all the items that were in faction inventories like a week or so ago are all replaced with new stuff now and I cant buy a single thing until I purchase the new expansion and start earning LM's. man it'd be cool if each faction had like a database of all the items sold previously where you can still obtain them, like the way u can look at all the armor shaders or emblems on those new screens, but they could set up one by each faction like a little kiosk where you can obtain older sets of armor and weapons. they could jus make it cost twice the amount of legendary marks or make u do something extra for u to buy the items, I think it would add huge variety to the game if a merchant's inventory wasn't limited to its periodic change. then people who have to leave for a while and come back never will lose out. I think that's a viable suggestion they should possibly look into. yea it would make items less coveted or rare, but that's why im saying it should be twice the amount of legendary marks and include some extra task u have to do to be able to buy it, it should be difficult to obtain but still possible

This is where I disagree. I used mine and leveled up my faction. Was able to get armor with the FWC. I didn't want old gear anyway. It wouldn't do you any good. Or did you expect to have legendary marks just sitting there waiting for you to use once you hit 40? I admit that would be nice but bungie won't make it that easy. Even if you did, the gear would only be like 240 and you'd still have to level it up.

You don't have to be on the exact same page to understand the book im readin ya kno. I feel like your response was just brushing off what I had said rather than addressing it directly. also I actually said "the rep IS helpful" I never said it was completely useless, I just feel its not an equal swap, can you agree with that a little bit? not to mention i paid 140 bucks all together while newcomers who got PSN can pay 59.99 right now to get the game including all expansions and extra content lol, so I guess they wont make it easy for day 1 fans but they will cater to new people. We all know this game is a money pit even tho it is addictive. but yeah add me if u ever want someone to do raids with buddy thanks for takin the time to comment to my post

I was only speaking on the lost of in-game currency for items, being replaced for faction rep which I didn't even want. I really hate light level though I wish they had took it out of the game and just set the level cap to 100 made it a regular MMO. I don't want to wear specific equipment to raise my light level. its great now it doesn't affect our main level, but I should have a choice in an RPG-styled game

Edited by BallisticsMC: 9/28/2015 10:44:04 AMDid you even read everything that I said ? and what u talkin bout old gear im just saying it would be cool If we had options so everyone doesn't end up looking exactly the same, all the equipment has different looks and designs, the stats are something they could change. they could give u old gear and raise defense and light level, same what they are doing with old exotics. like the vanguard armor from a couple weeks ago looked wayyyy better than the recent armor . but yeah my POINT is that its not about Bungie "making it easy" its just I had 200 crucible marks, and like 50 vanguard. Read what im saying. Marks bought you items, now there are NEW marks to buy you items, rather than replacing the marks we had that could purchase items, they gave us commendations for rep. Think of it this way, if you had rank 3 on all the factions and just wanted to go buy some items, Taken King rolls around and now ALL OF YOUR MARKS are set to 0. That's my point you get me?? Its not about making it easy, its just being realistic. No person has given me a logical explanation. look at it from my perspective, you're about to buy a new gun or a new piece of armor, then all the marks you had to buy it are gone. I don't think giving me rep makes up for that. whether you disagree or not, it doesn't really discredit this issue at all. If the new legendary marks are much harder to obtain than marks in the past, then I can maybe understand a bit, that's why I was saying we should get at LEAST 10-15 marks if you had over 100 marks before Taken King came out. im not asking for all 200 marks back, im just asking for a few. the change is too radical and illogical to me, although im sure theres good things about it, it doesn't change that I felt kinda robbed. im sure later on once I get used to it it wont matter, but its still disappointing dude

Oh I did see those commendations but I wasn't sure how they were to be used. that's still really dumb though. Marks were used to purchase EQUIPMENT you didn't use marks to get faction reputation. my point is we should have got legendary marks since I was literally just about to be able to purchase some nice weapon I wanted from Dead Orbit. now those marks are erased, and what does Bungie give us, a miniscule amount of rep that barely even gets you anywhere. Dude I got 4 commendations, that means I had like 200 marks they erased, and rather than giving me a free piece of equipment or some legendary marks, I get some shitty rep? wtf Bungie. and now I have to purchase The Taken King to use this weeks Field Test weapons cuz they are level 38. and u cant use the Cryptarch without TK either ugh

The equipment at the Vangard and crucible never changes, so what does it matter? The only real reason to collect marks now is for infusing and buying year 2 exotics.

Definitely - just make sure you have sworn allegiance to a faction first. You can move all characters commendations to one character to focus on just one of you need to.
