I live in Japan, and didn't want to have the Japanese version of TTK, so I bought the US version - it wasn't an issue with TDB or HoW, so I didn't think it would be with TTK either.
My playing account is Australian, but I live in Japan.
So... on my PS4 console I have:
- an Australian account (my playing account), with my son as a sub account
- a Japanese account (to buy local content for my son)
- my wife's account (Japanese)
- a US account (to purchase games in the US)
This wasn't an issue for The Dark Below or House of Wolves, but at the moment I cannot access the game with this account, or my son's sub account (the US account's name is: isgoodis)...
Am I doing something wrong? Or is this just a no go.

Hello, The_Maladjusted Below, RipGore have given you the proper information. While you may have not had region issues with The Dark Below or House of Wolves, Destiny: The Taken King will need to match the region of your account. In order to resolve these issues, you will need to own the correct region version of Destiny: The Taken King. PlayStation Support may be able to assist you with Digital purchases.

Alright so, there is a region lock going on. You're primary account is Australian correct? Expansions will only work when the game and the expansions are from the same region. I'm assuming you purchased a physical U.S Destiny Disc yes? If that is the case, you will need to obtain a disc that matches your primary account. In your case, you will need to obtain an Australian Destiny disc. Check the article below for more information. https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12459
