Earning XP after reaching Lv 40 also grants 1-4 Motes of Light upon "Leveling Up". Motes are ridiculously easy to come by to everyone, be they noobies or veterans. Strange Coins on the other hand are no longer a guaranteed drop from the Weekly Heroic Strike, and at most, you can get unlucky in the Nightfall and receive 10-15 of them instead of an Exotic or Legendary item. I had saved up over 300 Strange Coins for the release of The Taken King and now because of the changes Bungie made without publishing them in anticipation, I have 21 Strange coins, I can buy at least 1 of the 3 Exotic Armour Pieces Xur is selling this week, and that's it. What about next week? If he brings several pieces I desperately want., what am I supposed to do then?

The whole point was so people don't complain about Xûrning items since coins are rarer.

And that matters to the rest of the world, why? People complain about "not earning" your gear because you bought it from Xur, so what? Bungie themselves said that we earned those Strange Coins from the hard work and time we put int the game, that there's no reason for us to be belittled by other people and their elitism. The 324 Motes of Light in my inventory right now mean nothing, they're practically shit. The Strange Coins I well earned were spent on Engrams, which 50% of them turned into the god forsaken Emphyrean Bellicose.
