That's not entirely true if your stuck in vanilla destiny and have paid for both expansions there is content that was available at dlc launch that is no longer there. And they've limited the matching making activities that you used to have as well as certain planet side missions quests and baddies.
Blades of crota gone
Wolves gone
Eris bounties gone
Petra bounties gone
Sorry dude that's content and it's no longer there therefore if you don't spring for the taken king you are missing on wait for it ..... Wait for it !

Blades can still be done, and no Petra bounties means no need for wolves.

You know that Petra and Eris's bounties are gone for everyone right. Not just non DLC owners.

Yeap, again it's gone were all in the same boat on that front. Stuff was removed which sucks but all the new quests "if you own the taken king" make up for it. If you don't well your screwed . I can see why that pisses people off. I was a bit erked when I noticed . And stupid me deleted the husks :( ! No swords to go extinguish and try and get it . So yeah stuffs been removed everyone paid for it and it's gone . Considering how light on content the first two expansions were every little bit helps . When that little bits gone .... Well it sucks

There are a pack of wolves at Mars and completely un touchable by 34s . So stop trying to bicker and bring up stupid things content as it was is gone.

Except players beat them pre TTK so... Yeah. Wolves are still there. That means not removed. Get it?

The sword of Crota appear on the mission "Fist of Crota" The husk drops there.

Also trials , night falls , heroics all the stuff that made it playable week to week is inaccessible to non Tk buyers. For them that's sucks we can debate it all day gone is gone.

It's was and has always been end game content. You haven't bought the new end game so why would you get to play it. Those are modes not content.
