You sound like a corporate c0ck sucker. The logic behind it is not the problem. People are angry because it's not "right" I bought the Taken KING and love it BUT if I didn't, I can fully appreaciate the feeling of getting kicked in the nuts by Bungie. You however, decide to bounce on Bungies ball sack. Well done.

  • This goes to you and everyone else hopping ontop of their high horses and taking the "moral highground". Business is not moral. Business is money. Its unfortunate, but its the truth. The video game industry is just that; an industry. More money equates to better games, thats just the reality of it. Bungie's pseudo-subscription model, while obviously controverial, is an incrediblly economic business strategy, and will result in more and better content down the road. If you have ever torrented a music or movie file, you cannot argue entertainment morals. If you have ever game shared, you cannot argue entertainment morals. If you have even ever used a copyrighted photo from google images without proper citation and/or permissions, you cannot argue entertainment morals. The harsh reality is, we are almost all guilty of breaking both legal and moral boundaries when it comes to the games industry, developer or consumer. The sooner people accept this harsh truth the better, and the sooner we can all just enjoy games and look forward to the fantastic games to come.

  • And most people "whining" about the paywall understand that business is not moral. But business also need to understand that by being more open, they gain more in the long road. Nobody have the numbers of sale, but I would be very curious to see how many year 1 vet have bought TTK. TTK seems fun, graphics and gameplay are top-notch, and I have the money. Yet I won't buy it because of my personal ethics. By buying it I'm litteraly saying to them: It's ok, continue to develop games that have no longevity and screw every player that dont hop in the boat every 3 months.

  • I don't know about you, but if I get just 6 months out of a game, I feel pleased with the product. There are many games in my life I've bought for $60. And played for maybe a month. Was I dissapointed with them? No, not at all. Games like Portal 2, Dishonored. Dead Space series, Skyrim, Fallout, and plently more have been more than worth their price and have only really given me between 3-6 months play time, and thats stretching it for a few examples. Destiny doesnt ask a lot. $140 for keeping me and millions of other players entertained for over a year now? That sounds like value to me. What the hell else can I spend $140 on that will keep me entertained for literally hundreds of hours? I will keep giving money to this game, because I'm not going to let some twisted ideology of how I think the gaming industry should be get in the way of my personal enjoyment for how the game industry truly is.

  • You're totally right about the cost/hours. Even if I didnt really liked the year 1 expansions, I didn't feel like they stole my money by paying the game 99$, I've invested hundred of hours in the game and I've come to enjoy the game for what is was and not what it was meant to be. (even bought it on both xbox one and ps4 to be able to play with 2 differents groups of friends.) Thing is, they're still doing it wrong IMO, and as a customer, this is the only way for me to raise a flag and protest for these kind of evolution, because frankly I don't like that type of horizontal progression with old content lockout. Been there done that with WoW for 8 years. There's an truckload of games in the gaming universe, and each of them tries to get out of the bunch to be successful. You may not care about the message you're sending (because it's not about money for me trust me) but I would really like that our message get through so that other games don't just blindly copy this ghetto setup to be successful. TTK seems to be pretty fun for all I know, but I have enough games to play that doesn't encourage this behavior for now.
