  • Destiny is very much subscription based. They release paid content roughly every 4 months instead of having a monthly subscription cost.

  • Yes but not the subscription we are used to seeing....plus, bungie has not once stated its subscription based.

  • They don't need to announce something that is obvious. Just look at the pattern and you can figure it out. Every 4 months or so there will be a new DLC that requires $$ to stay current. It's very much subscription based.

  • Still, many players feel ripped off

  • Anyone who feels ripped off and hasn't bought TTK are not part of Bungie's target audience. Bungie is catering to those of us that are willing to buy their DLC and support the game, anyone who isn't serious about playing Destiny and supporting the game via quarterly DLC is left behind and quite honestly I'm surprised they still have access to everything that they do. It sucks for those people but most of us had figured out the business model quite some time ago and those that didn't want to keep buying DLC jumped ship. So my advice would be either buy the DLC, stay current and continue playing with the rest of us or let it go and move onto another game because complaining about it certainly is not going to change anything. What's done is done.

  • Surprised? We payed for that content. It would be illegal to disabled PAYING CUSTOMERS content they bought.

  • Incorrect. You agreed to the ToS on Day One that said Bungie could add / subtract / or outright remove anything they want at any point. There is no argument here, just hurt feelings because people thought Bungie was their 'friend' and not a business out to make money.

  • What? They can't "lock" content we already bought. Thats a fact.

  • Yes they can. Read the ToS and you'll be much more knowledgable. You didn't actually buy any content, you bought a license to play the game and Bungie decides what and when you can play it.

  • If thats true, thats even more evidence to justify the conspiracy theorists anger. I'm done with bungie. Onto bigger and better games. With devs that actually respect their consumers.

  • Every game is the same, you buy a license play it, the content creator has all of the power in deciding what you can and can not do or have access to while playing the game. The best you can do if you feel ripped off / cheated is vote with your wallet and not buy anything from them. As I already stated, I'm not in that boat, I enjoy playing Destiny and to me buying a new expansion every few months is totally worth it to keep playing. I don't play any other games so depending on the cost of the DLC I'm basically buying a new game (or in the case of $20 DLCs a used game) every 4 months.

Ahh, degraded to trying to insult me, have I been anything other than civil? No I haven't. You didn't specify which part isn't correct, though if you're referring to every game being the same then it very much is correct. You've obviously never read a ToS in your life so of course you wouldn't know. When you 'buy' a game you don't own anything about it, what you're really buying is a license to play that game and the creator retains all of the rights as to the content. Please do some research and maybe one day you'll understand.

  • Not really, I'm not any better than anyone else, I just understand how the world works and spent the money for the DLC. That's doesn't make me better than you or the next guy, I enjoy Destiny and want to play everything it offers for now, and feel that it's worth the monetary investment required. You and others do not, that's fine. But if that's the case then save yourself and everyone else the headache and move on to something new that meets your needs and fulfills your idea of value. It's quite obviously not Destiny otherwise we wouldn't even be having this conversation as you would have bought the DLC and be kicking ass in the new Crucible game modes.

  • Destiny was my main game before ttk. Bungie pushed me away. Now I'm just gonna log in for some casual PvP fun.

  • Well, I actually decided to buy other games instead of spending more money on destiny. I already preordered fallout 4 and taking my time playing through metal gear solid 5. One of the best games i have ever played with lots of content. Over 120 dollars invested in games I know the devs won't lock or kick me out of.
