I meant update in terms of new content. Nobody would be playing vanilla Destiny anymore without updates. Nor the vanilla version of most any game, for that matter. Super Mario Brothers on NES did not require Nintendo to be monitoring servers 24/7. The games of today do. That's a big difference.
