Partially wrong.
Nightfall is behind a pay-wall. Level requirement is a constant level 40, which can only be unlocked when you buy TTK. This is what people are really complaining about.

I thought he clearly stated stuff about that. End game content is catered to recent releases.

The strike that's in rotation has been catered to the current release, but never has the nightfall been behind a pay-wall entirely. The other DLC allowed non-paying players to play the nf when the strike in rotation wasn't a DLC strike because they could still level up to the necessary level somehow. Now, you can only get level 40 if you get TTK.

They should have endgame content scaled to people who expand but still available to those that don't. They shouldn't take away game modes to "encourage" people to buy the latest expansion. If a raid/strike was level 34 before expansion then 40 after, those that bought the expansion will get to play the level 40. Those that didn't should still be able to play the 34.
