I do not think he is better, I think the writing is better. The little jokes make the difference.

 • Nolan North actually has a fairly high influence on this characters in all games. Especially what is said. You say the writing is good, not the actor. However, the writing was heavily influenced by the actor. And could you imagine old dinklebot cracking jokes? It's not just about content, delivery is also crucial. Have you ever heard someone try and crack a joke but mess it up 5 times and forget what the punchline is? Not fun. Or funny.

 • Personally, Nolan's voice is too child like, or high pitched. In the Destiny Universe this is pretty serious: Big Baddy Daddy Taken King Oryx shows up to kill everything and avenge his sons death and he's coming for us all. On top of that he has the ability to rip soldiers out of our reality and reconfigure them to work for him. Pretty bad situation. That whole mood is ruined by a (what I think he sounds like) a pre-pubescent British Child. I agree Peter could've added more character, but the writers shouldn't write based on an actors credentials and accolades when it comes to these types of things.

 • Childlike? Not really. More of a studious, nerdy and whimpy guy. Which is kinda what the ghost is. It certainly fits the roll. Besides, his happy demeanor plays along nicely with the jokes and the new attitude. Can you imagine a deep voiced ghost? Let alone one that cracks jokes? It's difficult for me. It doesn't fit the roll. Besides, just because he's not serious you'd have him banished? Harsh. Cayde-6 isn't serious, would you have him gone? It adds to a variety in characters as well. Ikora and Eris are both very serious. Others are similar. We don't need more serious characters. In fact, for diversity's sake, we need less.

 • I'm just gonna say... If zavalas ghost spoke, it would have to be dinklebot, no way would zavala have anything but a deep voiced ghost

 • Yeah, I'd imagine that Ghosts grow on their guardian. They evolve with them. As well as change how they act and talk.

 • Would be awesome if you could use a pitch tool to customise your ghost's voice

 • I'm not saying the Ghost needs to be serious, I'm just saying that his voice doesn't fit the tone of the scenario. If you catch my drift. Deep-voiced men can make jokes, I find it funnier when they do.
It could just be my inner GoT fanboy who knows.
• Oh yes, heavy voiced men can make jokes. But if that man fits into the size of a cell phone and is incredibly smart but doesn't have any muscle, it kinda puts off the character. And I've met many deep voiced people, but the deeper the voice, the less often, and more weird, it is when they make jokes. And it doesn't fit the tone. That's kinda the point. It's a T game, a rating I agree with. It shouldn't be all gore, grit, and sorrow. Games like that aren't as fun. They are hard to play. The same applies to movies and books, etc. In other words, he's there to be your companion. Your guide. And your comic relief. I will note that I do want other voice actors as an option. Each with their own set of dialogue. But I do love Nolanbot.

 • I'd like to find out how much he actually added to the script. Because the flow is a lot better and it seems like, rather than walk into the studio and read a script, he's actually invested in it and would have questioned and changed things. Basically, I don't think the script writing got magically better by itself haha
