Nope content is the same. The strikes story missions and raids you paid for is all playable for you. If you didn't buy TDB or HoW you were locked out of Nightfalls. Expect for the new strikes to be the first 6 weeks Nightfalls even if you could get to 40.
heroic strikes have been taken out anyway.
Nearly every game is obsolete after the first year
