Destiny Pet Peeves

These are some of my pet peeves Bungie threw into the mix. I doubt with much thinking or foresight. I really wonder if Bungie cares about its fan base. 1. [b]Xur[/b] - Xur now sells heavy at 3 per 1 strange coin instead of 5. For those with less strange coins it will be more noticeable. This was stupid decision by Bungie. Heavy ammo is hard enough to get in the real world with lack luster drops. 2. [b]Armor Discipline[/b] - All the armor you had that had 3 disciplines, suddenly became 2. I always tried to balance out my disciplines and now find this much harder to do. Why would Bungie come in the dead of night and alter my gear which I had already received from many drops and make changes. 3. [b]Shot guns[/b] - shot guns were nerfed too much for PVE, What this tells me is that when they make changes for PVP it affects PVE. Why not simply test for this in your game software so one does not nerf the other. 4. [b]Year one guns[/b] - We should be able to take all guns forward with us in the years to come. Let us decide. if you want us to drop year one stuff. Give us something to drop year one stuff to...and let us make that decision. Suddenly forcing us to throw our most favorite guns away because they suddenly become useless was a stupid Idea...You should have had a random drop of something better come along that would let us make that choice. 5. [b]Factions[/b] - If I am already a member of a faction, why do I need to pay 2500 glimmer to become a member of that faction again. I can still buy gear from that faction. Glimmer is hard enough to come by. And why do we suddenly have to pay. Before we could join for free. 6. [b]Choosing different level hardness in your destination[/b] - Why did Bungie feel they needed to change this. Now I can not do Exclusion Zone on level 22 for example. This should have been left alone. If they want a harder mode... then just add one on top of the existing. 7. [b]Queens bounties[/b] - I assume that you will not be able to always open the main chest anymore if you have no key. Bungie deleted existing game content so you could not interact with the wolves anymore. So no Guaranteed Key. So POE basically becomes useless as no body will want to run a POE 35 if they have no Keys. 8. [b]Ammo drops[/b] - I have noticed a lack of ammo drops while playing PVE. Jugular was not turned on. I ran out of primary ammo consistently and struggled to find it. Heavy ammo drops were scarce and I got one drop an entire strike with Ruin Wings on my Titan. I sure hope I am not playing a raid with the same issues. 9. [b]Year one Legendary weapons[/b] - OK I went through a lot of work to acquire legendary weapons. Then I went through a lot of work to get etheric light. And now you tell me I did this all for nothing. Who's asinine decision was that ? you should let us ascend what ever we want. We are the ones playing this game. Why do you feel you have to break or destroy all the stuff we once were able to enjoy doing or using. 10. [b]Year one Exotics[/b] - These all should have never been Nerfed ... except the thorn in PVP... that is my take. All of them should be ascendable. We earned them, we should be able to keep using them until something else better comes along. 11. [b]Chest drops VOG[/b] - I have hit the exotic chest so many times it is not tracked anymore... and all I get is Ascendant material.... what happened to actually getting something ? 12. [b]PVP[/b] - I noticed some people having heavy long before any heavy actually became available.... what is up with that ? Several of us noticed that last night during Crucible. 13. [b]Light level[/b] - Guns should not be a factor in determining light level. That is a terrible Idea. This should be reworked and fixed. 14. [b]rewards[/b] - Nightfall, everyone should get an exotic drop or something equivalent, POE 35 everyone should get an exotic drop or something equivalent. POE 34 should at least be a random exotic drop or a decent, elemental legendary drop. Any Raid should be an exotic Drop or something equivalent. Everyone participates in these activities, so everyone should benefit. Often times I would get the shaft end of the deal while everyone else got something good. On the good side of things I like having more vault space, the quick turn around for bounties and not having to go there to turn them in. Some of the new PVP maps are nice and fun to try out. There was one PVP map that was a bit BIG and became a sniper fest. I will continue to play this new revised [b]content cut destiny[/b], just to see how it plays out. Although I am not very satisfied by this 2.0 patch and I really think it should be rolled back and given some thought. However, I know bungie will not do it. So I will just see how it goes... I will add more to this as I go. Frag on oh yea I remember another one..... 15. [b]Nolan ghost[/b] - This ghost is so annoying. Bring back something that sounds more realistic. This is terrible

  • I think everybody is just going to have to accept that this is a reset of sorts and you are either going to have to take it in stride or quit, because it is here to stay.

    • I'm not sure what you are talking about with armor "disciplines". You may want to rephrase that part. As long as we are talking about pet peeves, I hate the way intellect/discipline/strength scale in effectiveness now. In the old system, the effectiveness of your gear stats was scaled by your level. My Titan has had high percentage bonuses on at least one stat since he was level 10 (he kept receiving Engrams from a couple of high-level Guardians who mysteriously had the same name). Because they removed that scaling, he now has worse stat bonuses as a level 34 with full Prison of Elders armor than he did as a level 10 wearing blues. They have made it so that, unless you are at level 40 and in the Taken King endgame, this whole aspect of your character development is vestigial. Even if that won't mean anything after the first week or so for most players, it's still terrible game design. Things like that should be introduced to players has they play, not dumped on them all at once after they cross some arbitrary threshold. I suspect that may be deliberate, but I won't get into that here.
