Assuming that the explosion/weapon blast that causes the hole in the rings was spherical that would indicate that the ship is not on the same plane as the rings judging from the profile of the edges of the hole. Just saying.

  • Watch some of the cinematic trailers. You see the Dreadnaught in the ring and then it fires out a pulse, destroying all the rocks around it.

  • I guess then Bungie's artist are not very good at 3D thinking. Have a look, if you were to place a sphere into that hole (taking the profile of the edge in mind) then the dreadnaught would not be at the centre of that sphere. Anyways it's just something I noticed yesterday and your post made me remember it.
