I get them wanting to team up with friends and hand pick a fireteam to do some difficult end game stuff I mean honestly, what's the difference between having the OPTION to have the game search for open fire teams for you and going onto the forums and saying "lvl 32 hunter LF Crota Hard, had max Gally and icebreaker" other than the fact that one of these options would have lead to a lot fewer people getting excluded for not having certain gear, fewer people responding to lfgs too slowly, and quicker matching meaning more time playing and less time groaning when someone leaves because finding people is taking too long?
