So i had another brilliant idea. Don't you love when i start thinking? A Quest line, but not any regular Quest line, oh no. An Upgrade path like no other. You visit your old friend the Gunsmith, with your Trusty Fatebringer on your hip like always, but you notice something when talking with him, your trusty Fatebringer is showing up in his screen (like a re-roll), so you click on it. And it says your weapon has seen many battles Guardian, the Gunsmiths have worked tirelessly to gather new ways to keep our most trusted weapons going, seek out Master Rahool for information on items he needs to gather to assist us in this endeavor. You get a new item in your mission items, it looks much like a quest marker, it says talk to master Rahool. So you do, he tells you to gather as many weapons parts as you can from the Taken so they can learn from them, and find new ways to improve our weapons. (Side note: for Faction weapons you must see them after master rahool, they will require different things) After you complete all the Requests you go back and receive the Fate of Two, legendary Handcannon, upon examination it looks much the same, with a new silvery gleam to it, instead of the normal bronze. You notice also a new perk. (New perk not thought out yet, taken have not been faced), you also notice, you can now switch between Solar and Arc. Later maybe the next DLC maybe in year 3, you have a new Quest line for your value and trusted Fate of Two. Once completed it becomes the Fate of All, a new legendary Handcannon still looking much like your old trusted weapon it now has a More diamond like exterior, much like the look of Atheon, the villain whose Vault you got this very weapon from! You also notice it has another new perk! You notice it can now also switch to Void damage, along with the Arc it started with, and the Solar you gained previously. Now i used Fatebringer as an example, as its one of my all time favorites. This hinges on it not only being a year 1 weapon, but one you use, frequently. Not something you just like, something that is by your side nearly always. This provides an upgrade path for those most treasured weapons, without allowing you to just carry along everything you want. I think it would be an amazing middle ground, for us and them
