History: The [i]Eternal Solstice[/i] is a relatively new ship to have been added to the Federation's quite impressive fleet; as the first Orion-class Dreadnought of her kind, [i]Eternal Solstice[/i] assisted in various engagements, where her performance greatly exceeded what was believed at first. However, during a classified raid on an asteroid belt, [i]Eternal Solstice[/i] was boarded and her escorts destroyed. Her acting Captain was killed, and it was only thanks to then-Commander Vincent Adler and his quick thinking that eventually got the boarders pushed back and the ship retaken. Badly bruised, the [i]Eternal Solstice[/i] limped back to Federation-controlled space, where Adler's heroics made him the new Captain of the Dreadnought.
