Upgrade Rare Armor?

This has probably been suggested a lot, but I just got the Vanir armor set and it was such a bittersweet feeling. Although the armor set looks so damn great, its not very useful to me as a level 34 titan. I hope Destiny gives us a way to upgrade pre-Taken King armor or Transmorg it at least. After watching The Taken King videos, I saw armor and weapons that are uncommon/rare for higher levels, so it would be cool if you could upgrade rares to higher levels, or have certain armor sets like the PS Exclusives have 2.0 versions for when they're released on Xbox.

  • Infusion works for every piece of armor. You get the looks, but not the perks.

  • That would be cool as I always felt the standard, uncommon and rare armor looked way better than the - for the most part - asymmetrical Legendary armor, even sometimes better than the Exotic armor. When playing the demo on XBox 360 I loved my lvl 7 uncommon armor, as it just looked cool. Then I got rare and got more excited only to be slapped in the face with Legendary ugliness, then to be somewhat happy again with exotics. It would open up for more diversity if all armor was possible to ascend all the way up to exotic parameters.

  • I think infusion will work for for armor (TTK armor anyways).
