Thx for the kind words. I do have a twitch channel set up but haven't had the time recently to stream. I'll definitely check Ken out as that sounds incredible! Let me know how you get on with your attempt at my play style! The Crota video is a little deceptive as I forgot to flip the image horizontally so it looks like I'm using my right hand but I'm not, it's left!

Some of them rake in really good money. I'll follow your gamertag so if you stream I'll be notified. I will definitely let you know how I go. Yeah on my second watch I realised it was flipped.

So, I tried using your control scheme and wow, just no. I could barely get my gun up and aim! Respect levels just sky rocketed. So tell me, what kind of time frame did it take for you to be able to play in a way that resembled someone playing with both hands? How long did it take you to be better than most? Were there times when you felt like giving up? When you first started trying to play with one hand we you like: "this is never going to work!"

  • lol good on you for giving it a go! I started playing PS1 as a form of therapy to get my hand eye co-ordination back. Then moved onto PS2. I mostly played driving, sports and fighting games as I didn't have the dexterity to manage FPS at that time. It wasn't until my nephew got an Xbox 360 that I attempted to use the Xbox style controller. It immediately felt more comfortable for me due to the stick layout. The way I play now is the exact way I played my first game with my nephew, it just felt "right". I wouldn't say I ever felt like giving up. Sure I have my down days but I'm ridiculously stubborn as my wife will attest! Seeing me in the street, its obvious I have a disability. So, my goal online was to "blend in" and make my play such that no one could possibly know or believe it if I told them ;)

I was a professional musician for over a decade and I've always been super passionate about gaming so I've often thought about how my biggest fear would be losing even one hand. I've often thought if I lost a hand is be like "ah well, I guess I'll get super into movies now." I love how you said that you feel like you blend in whilst playing a game. That's such a great thought and a testament to the power of games as an interactive medium. As I said before I wouldn't believe for a second I was watching one handed gameplay and if you were on my fireteam I wouldn't believe for a second you were playing one handed, so you've absolutely nailed that aspect. Congrats and thanks for sharing all of this with the community. I've had a blast sharing this video with my friends. Edit: there's also a guy with no arms that plays DOTA or LOL with a gameplay designed for his feet.
