I"m getting ripped off
I'm on Xbox 360 and I own the expansion pass, but it won't let me have the option for a $40 upgrade to the Taken King. What am I supposed to do? I feel like I'm getting ripped off and would like some answers to my question please and thank you.

You can't preorder it on last gem consoles, you can maybe do it in store but cannot preorder the digital version, you should be able to purchase it digitally on release day
