The sun sat in the sky, bathing the forest canopy below in light like it did everyday. A gentle breeze swept through the trees, making the leaves rustle in the wind. Then the wind picked up speed, blowing through the forest with new found power. Then a shadow swept over the trees, and without warning, a huge mass flew overhead, shining a brilliant white light onto the forest floor before disappearing. Flying overhead , was a white dragon. --------------------------------------------------- Daethíer's claws raked over the tops of the trees. It wasn't enough to break them, but he did get their solid stature to shake a little. He only stayed at that altitude until he came to a shear drop that lead into a canyon. He folded his wings in slightly, enough to get him at a good altitude within the canyon. When he reached an altitude he deemed worthy, he opened his wings back to their full length. The light reflected off of his scales, casting a brilliant white color on the canyon walls. When he saw that he was approaching the end of the canyon, he flapped his wings three times and shot out. A view like no other was displayed before him. The sky was painted a magnificent gold, a large plateau with sections of trees here and there scattered over the land, and a city that shone in the distance. He flapped hard, trying to reach the clouds. He leveled himself out when he reached the first cloud layer. He glanced down below him and saw a large lake surrounded in oak trees. An idea came to him. His heart began to beat more rapidly at the thought. A small laugh escaped his throat. No way was he going to pass this up. He flipped over on his back, folded his wings in, and dived. He closed his second pair of eyelids to keep the the wind out of his eye but still see where he was going. Before he hit the water, he closed his eyes completely and let a roar full of glee. He plunged head first into the lake like a massive arrow. Massive waves exploded from the force of impact, and a few moments later, the water calmed. Daethíer climbed out shortly after, panting, heart racing, and with a toothy grin plastered on his face. He turned to face the lake and layed down by the bank. He closed his eyes to rest, leaving himself in the sun's golden glow to dry off. Waiting to take to the skies once more. (Open)

Darthíer felt a magical energy nearby, but that was to be expected in the realm of light. It was only when he heard a voice that he was aware of something close. Something powerful. "Greetings, dragon. I saw your dive. You are an adept flier. I would like to recruit you." He opened his right eye to see a collection of white wisps taking form in the shape of a human. Now that interested him. He hadn't seen that before. And the voice came from the humanoid shape. "Thank you." He responded. He raised his head up, shaking his head to get rid of the groggy feeling in his head. Once he did, he put his attention back on the humanoid. "And what is this 'recruitment' that you speak of if I may ask?"

  • The Restoration. This world has suffered a blow. A deep wound. I believe we can heal it, with sufficient power... I can already tell you have potential. There is an ancient power within you. My power alone is not enough. This form cannot channel my true power.

  • Did he hear that right? This realm; his home, was wounded? How? If this humanoid truly did speak the truth. Then it was only a matter of time before whatever had tainted the realm to reveal its hand. The very thought made him growl. He rose to his full stature, looking right at the humanoid. "How can I help?"

  • This realm was tainted by a shadow of the mythic. First though, we will need to awaken your true potential. *his entire body glows, radiating, until he is a figure of pure light* I Atheal, God of Knowledge, order the power within this being to awaken itself. *You feel unimaginable power rush through you* *the human stops glowing, and collapses on the beach* That was more difficult that I imagined!

The human figure began to glow into a bright light. Daethíer actually had to shut his eyes completely; it was so bright! "I Atheal, God of Knowledge, order the power within this being to awaken itself." Even though his eyes were closed, the light still seemed to shine through. That's when he felt a force pierced his very being. Once it did, a power unlike any other washed over him. He roared when the power felt like it would over take him. When he felt the effects finally die down, it felt like he had flown the world without pause. He started to loose his footing, barely able to keep his consciousness from slipping away. He couldn't stay like he was and collapsed. The last thing he saw was his scales changing color to a fiery red, to a deep silver, and a bright violet color before returning to its original color. He couldn't stay awake any longer. He closed his eyes, and lost his consciousness.

  • Daethíer was drifting in the void of his mind. Silent and unmoving. Where was he? How did he get here? His memory had drawn a white line over itself. He couldn't remember anything. How long had he- His mind raced towards reality. His claws dug into the earth and his eyes shot open; pupils as narrow as a blade's edge. He rose to his feet in a flash, muscles tensed up, head lowered, ready to strike at anything. His eyes darted from one place to the next; he was breathing fast, heavy breathes. When nothing was in sight, he began to calm down. The humanoid was gone. Where did it go? It did something to him. But what exactly did it do? He walked over to the edge of the lake and looked down at his reflection. He looked at every angle of himself to see if there was any damage. Nothing. He looked exactly how he did before he went unconscious. That being did something to him though. He remembered the stab at his soul, the rush of power, and the sudden color show of himself. Just what did it mean?

He lowered his down to get a drink. "You have awoken." The sudden response startled him. He lost his footing on the edge and the front half of his body fell into the lake. With his back legs, he pulled himself out if the water and looked to where the voice had originated. There it was, floating inches above the water. The humanoid light. "What happened to me?"

Before he could ask any more questions, movement caught his eye. He turned to look at what it was and saw... What was he looking at? Whatever it was, it could only be described as a horror. It was a huge mass of arms and legs, easily towering over him. "Destroy this, using your powers." The humanoid commanded. "How do I do that?" Daethíer asked with a hint of fear in his voice. But before an answer could come, the horror let loose a guttural roar and charged right for him. He flapped his wings, trying to get into the air to put as much distance between him and the horror. But it was faster than he expected. When he got into the air, the thing grabbed him by the tail and slammed him into the earth. Hard. Before he could catch his breath, the horror threw him right at a tree. His bulk crashed right into the tree, leaving a huge crack down its side. He regained his footing right as the horror charged again. But this time he was ready. He dashed out of the way just as it came within reach. Now with the element of surprise, he leaped onto the horror and started clawing and biting at the things flesh. But no matter what he did, he didn't seem to do any real damage. The horror finally had enough and grabbed him and threw him on the ground, again. He tried to get back up, but the horror, with its array of arms, pinned his tail, wings, claws, and body to the ground. He lifted his head and let loose a jet of flame at the horror. But he felt a hand grab hold of his throat where his neck met his head and pinned it to the earth. He struggled with all of his strength to get free. He was not going to submit to this abomination, he would fight until he breathed his last breath! He felt an immense rush of power flow into him. His entire body changed color from it's elegant white color, to a fiery red. Even his eye changed to a bright red color. His entire body was engulfed in fire. In surprise, the horror released him. Daethíer got to his feet, snarling at the horror. His chest glowed, and he released a jet of flame the size of hurricane. The horror was engulfed in the firestorm in an instant, and he could hear the cries of pain it gave off. He closed his jaw, cutting off the flame to his opponent. Most of it's appendages had been incinerated. Then his scales turned a deep silver color, eyes appearing to be made of glass. He let loose another torrent of flame. But instead of fire, he breathed frost. The horror was frozen in a thin layer of ice. Then his scales turned into a bright violet color; eyes that looked like they contained a thunderstorm. He charged at the solid form; electricity surging around him as he charged. At the final stretch, he leaped. And with the speed of a thunder bolt, crashed right through the frozen horror, landing on the other side. His body returned to it's normal state, and immediately a feeling of fatigue hit him. He looked back and saw the shattered remains of the horror. He collapsed once more. He couldn't help but laugh a little. He was victorious. He had won.

"Hmmm.. You did well. You are still inexperienced. Follow me." Daethíer glanced over just in time to see the humanoid transform into an owl. Then it shot into the sky. He quickly rose from his prone form and beat his wings three times to get airborne. He caught up to the owl shortly after. His back was swore from him crashing into the tree so he wasn't going to attempt any sort of acrobatics. But he did just move from one spot to the next within the area around the owl. "So..." He said in between breathes. He was still a bit fatigued, but he would manage to stay in the air to wherever they were going. Hopefully."What is... Your name... I know you... Said it back at... The lake but... I didn't catch it..."

  • "I am known as Atheal. And I am the Librarian. We are headed to the grand library. I have some things for you. Have you ever tried casting spells before?" Atheal? Why did that name sound so familiar? He was also some kind of librarian that was in charge of a place the Grand Library. He also stated that he had some 'things' that he wanted to give him. But the last part was what caught his attention. He had never used magic before. As a dragon, he knew that he had some sort of connection to it. But other than what he did just a few minutes ago, he had never used any of it. "No... I have... Not..." His heart started racing. He had always wanted to learn how to use magic, but no 'one could actually teach him, and he didn't dare try to enter any of the cities. But now was his first real chance. He tried to do a flip, but the moment he moved to attempt it, a whole new wave of pain shot through his back. He hissed at the sudden pain and he leveled himself out. Back to just boring straight flying. "But... I would.. Certainly like... To try..."

  • *we arrive at the library. Atheal touches his forehead and a single giant ring appears* This will summon the dragon armour of the seven. The Helm of Atheal, the Chestpiece of Aerus, the Legs of Artius, Athus, Arus and Atus, the Tailpiece of Aetius. Through these you will be able to channel your power at will. Then I can teach you how to use them.

  • They were approaching a city. It looked weird to be a city. As they approached, it only began to look different than most cities he had seen. He was about to voice his opinion to Atheal when he noticed the layout. It was all connected. Then it hit him. He couldn't believe what he was looking at. This city, wasn't a city. It was one, massive building. Atheal wasn't kidding when he had said Grand Library. They landed in some sort of circular courtyard. That's when Atheal touched his head that a giant ring appeared. "This will summon the dragon armour of the Seven. The Helm of Atheal, the Chestpiece of Aerus, the Legs of Artius, Athus, Arus, and Atus, and the Tailpiece of Atieus. Through these you will be able to channel your power at will. Then I can teach you how to use them." He looked around at the ring around them. That's when sections of it began to glow.

  • "I Atheal, God of Knowledge summon the armour of the Seven, and bestow it on this dragon!" The ring flashed once and armour began to take shape on his body. The armour from what he could see so far was that it was the same color of his scales with a tint of gold. Runes were etched onto the armour, and in a few crevices in it seemed to glow a sky blue color. But the best part was that he didn't feel burdened at all, like it had no weight. It was like a second skin! "It's beautiful." He said. It really looked like art. Not something for battle. He felt a chill go through him. Was this bonding to him? It felt like something was forming in itself. It had to be the magical properties in the armour, it was suppose to make him use his powers at will. Guess it was time to learn how to use them.

  • Now for your first lesson. A simple summoning spell. And by simple, I do of course mean God-level. *summons the horror that attacked you earlier* Now summon something to destroy this. The magic you will use is controlled by your will. However using a new spell in the midst of battle is never a good idea. Theoretically you can summon anything in existence.

Did he hear that right? God-level? That's simple? "Are you serious?" That's when another horror appeared at the opposite end of the courtyard. "Now summon something to destroy this. The magic you will use is controlled by your will. However, using a new spell in the midst of battle is never a good idea. Theoretically you can summon anything in existence." ... Well this was turning out great. Using a new spell was a bad idea during a fight, which is exactly what he was doing; Learning to use magic against something that could throw a dragon around like a rag-doll. That's when the horror decided to charge. He was already lowered to the ground, ready to either lunge at this thing or dash out of the way. He was already thinking of what to summon. He could summon the bear that he fought when he was an adolescent. But it was smaller than him now, there was no way it could take this thing on. The horror got too close for comfort. It lunged for him, but he dashed to the side. Could he summon himself? He might as well give it a try. He focused on what he wanted. The etched runes on the armour began glow a whitish-gold color. Then a near exact copy of himself. The only difference was it looked like it was ethereal. His focus was on summoning for too long. The horror closed the ground and grabbed him by the neck and threw him across the courtyard. He beat his wings twice to gain control of his decent. He landed and slid somewhat on the floor, but it was better than what it could have been. So that was the reason or one of the reasons not to summon during a battle. He and his ethereal form circled the horror. He thought about burning the thing like he did the previous one. And the armour glowed a red color and the next moment his scales changed color to red; the ethereal form was also a fiery red color. They both unleashed a massive torrent of flame at the horror. He could hear it cry as it began to die. They ceased there attack and saw what once stood a horror, was nothing more than a pile of ash.

  • Brilliant! You are learning fast. *places a crystal on the ground* This will summon monsters of increasing power. Defeat them one by one. However, each one can only be killed by a certain type of spell. This will teach you to cast more quickly. If a monster overpowers you, simply yell, "helm of atheal defend me!" The helm of my name, will incinerate the monster.

  • Atheal placed a crystal of some sorts on the ground, saying that it would summon monsters stronger than the last, and could only be defeated with a certain method. And apparently the helm he was wearing, when saying a certain phrase, would destroy whatever he had summoned. Noted. He walked over towards where the crystal sat and picked it up in his right claw. It was beautiful in it's own way. It looked like glass, and when angled in a certain way, a part of it would shine a purple color. He averted his attention to Atheal and bowed his head. "Thank you, Atheal." He looked up at the sky; it still had it's golden glow to it. He began to ponder. Other than train himself, he didn't know where his future lied. Or what his future was for that matter. He returned his gaze to Atheal again. "So what happens now?"

  • I must activate the crystal. *Atheal mutters something, and the crystal begins to glow, a blob of black, viscous sludge flew out of it, beginning to grow and take shape. A huge wolf. With claws glowing white hot, formed. Jet black fur, taut over rippling muscles* Kill it! Reach into the helm with your mind. It will provide you with knowledge about this creature, and you will know how to kill it.
