So you're basing your entire argument around a single weapon? And that weapon being an Exotic no less that is getting nerfed with the 2.0 Patch or the fact that Skolas himself was tweaked because most of the issue actually stemmed from the way the boss was designed, not so much the weapon in question itself?
Personally I'd like for you to bring up other examples.
Actually, better question. Could you be so kind as to click on my profile, open my Warlock and inspect the equipped primary weapon? You'll find an original vanilla version Red Hand IX, the New Monarchy Hand Cannon. Please give your explanation as to this weapon being overpowered with provided examples to support your scientific deductions.

No, my argument is not based on a single weapon. But ghorn/Skolas is the most obvious and easy to understand example. Examples: Atheon and Blackhammer. Sepkis and Blackhammer. Ghorn with solar burn and any nightfall. I don't know about you, but I sometimes find it hard to put down my Found Verdict, Fatebringer, VoC, whatever gun you want add. Nothing else compares to these early weapons. The game needs something fresh. That is my humble opinion. I post here so people see the other side. Not sure if you mean to, but sometimes you come across as arrogant and condescending (maybe I do too). You have articulate well thought out points. I respect your opinion but still disagree.

My demeanor in response to others is shaped by experiences from whatever community I find myself in. I've had far too many debates turn sour where I'll think I'm having a serious discussion about something only to have that person constantly ignore what I am saying or pull some nonsense where they just go "fool I was just trolling you" or something akin to that. Or I'll come across someone taking certain liberties and acting in a manner that just rubs me wrong and I'll seriously start to question their intelligence or motives, or try to understand their psychology. Not saying any of this applies to you, merely giving an explanation as to why I might sound the way that I do to you. Also something else to bare in mind is that, as per always I direct my posts at Bungie, never the community. (I'll generally add a note at the end encouraging those who agree with what I've said to support the post in hopes of it making some constructive progress on the matter being addressed) I actually have, personally, very little interest having a debate about what I'm giving as feedback with another player. Not because I don't think they are lesser or anything, but because I know that ultimately its a waste of time for both me and them to argue when the person I would much rather be having said debate with would be an actual Bungie representative. Because even if I were somehow able to change the person's opinion and persuade them otherwise? That's just one person, hardly what I would consider a ground breaking achievement. My general pet peeves are when people disagree with me or make a statement acting as if they are Bungie. It annoys me to no ends the sheer audacity that some people demonstrate on here and this particular point rubs me wrong each time. "Bungie would never admit this but-" No... That is not acceptable as far as I'm concerned. Unless that person works for Bungie, they have no right saying anything remotely close to that. And it will, each and every time, grind my gears and just add to my overall bitterness for the community. There have been times when I've actually considered quitting the game outright and selling it JUST BECAUSE of the community itself. I mean, simply put, myself nor anyone else should have to feel like we're being attacked or constantly being challenged or harassed for having shared our feedback openly, for having our own personal opinions. I've never understood, seriously, why people would make a disagreeing comment to someone's post (like this one, for example) that is being addressed to Bungie. Now, if they made a post that was addressing the community? Sure. That's an entirely different matter. But by and large, this forum exists for user feedback and its frustrating when other people NOT with Bungie are the ones trying to argue with you. My automatic reaction to someone coming into a post like this and disagreeing with it is generally "alright...good for you?" It just seems more like being attention seeking. No one asked them to voice their differing point of view and if I did that to someone else? I would not blame them for being annoyed as well and they would be justified. But anyways... On the matter of the other examples you gave, its important to keep in mind that yes, you use your Fatebringer a lot but how many other Arc Damage Hand Cannons do you have? It has less to do with the weapons and more to do with the bonus damage modifiers. Obviously you'll take Arc Damage weapons into a situation where you know you'll be fighting the Fallen mostly because they are actually weaker against it. And when you apply ARC BURN to the situation the gun is a beast. But then again ANY Arc Damage Hand Cannon would be in that scenario. Would one use the Fatebringer against Hive Wizards? Of course not, you'd switch to like, say the Vision of Confluence because it has Solar Damage which the Hive are weaker against. Its all situational, its got nothing to do with the weapons themselves. Based on what we currently have? You could easily compile variations of new weapons that would compliment the current ones instead of looking to compete with them. And that is generally what most of us want, we don't have 10 different versions of the same gun with a different look and appearance. While try and create a new version of Fatebringer when you already have one that you have poured time and resources into? You could instead be presented with, just as an example, the Electric Razor Hand Cannon which also deals Arc Damage with High Caliber Rounds design to stagger enemies instead of the Explosive Rounds. That right there gives you two viable options defined by their different perks. Or for the next Raid Legendary Hand Cannon we get something that offers SOLAR Damage which I personally haven't come across yet. The only thing that limits the potential to expand the game and add diversity is the creative imagination of the developer. Being one myself, I can personally conceptualize a myriad of weapons that would by no means be considered useless by anyone compared to the old stuff while at the same time maintaining the value of both old and new. No competition at all, just MORE stuff that everyone wants because more is ALWAYS better.

I thought posting on a public forum was all about debate and forming/expressing ideas. Good luck with hearing back from Bungie (sincerely). I do have to say I am more understanding and appreciative of the year one ascension movement now (mainly from your last post)..... Not that you care... Lol Good luck Guardian
