The last word has the same range as thorn no mater what the stats say. Thorn is easily countered by using cover and a different angle of assault once you have been hit once. The last word has twice the fire rate of thorn meaning you don't need a lucky 111 head shot, low armor builds are three body shots to kill anyway and you can get four shots off to thorns two(hmm that sounds like faster TTK to me again). Watch any good pvp streamer, they all use the last word and wreck thorn users from close up and far away.
