Here's the one question that can't be answered by anyone opposed to keeping the weapons and gear:
How is my keeping and ascending them going to affect your game if I don't know you and don't play with you?
Answer: it doesn't, and this can't be refuted.
Things that do affect others are changes like forcing non optional matchmaking like they did with the weeklies, now taking those away to force people to play strikes no one wants to so as to increase the time it takes to level up or show false hours played to shareholders, making the weapons weaker so as to increase play time.....everything is to increase play time.
I love playing Destiny, but I don't love what they are doing to it. I haven't loved all the changes along the way, but I grit my teeth and bared it. Now, through two times of resetting my progress, I have to do it again? My friends and I are already starting to find other games to play. This saddens me the way I was saddened that I bought a game based on open world rhetoric that never happened. But hey, some fanboy as you guys call them will retort to this I'm sure with some comment that is irrelevant and selfish and demeaning, as a 41 yr old retiree with a family, I won't even bother with responding. Again, great post OP, Lost, and all you guys out there.

Sorry to lose you Guardian, hopefully things can turn around. This game has such great promise, I had some really good times with friends. I'm starting to feel that my time has less and less value however. As a 46yr old father of 4, I'm at work a lot. I manage to get in a few hours of playtime a night.....then it's midnight and 5AM comes really fast thereafter. I'm somehow feeling that my past year was for nought. Good luck in the future however and hope to see you starside again. #infusionforall
