Semi right there. They are in our system to escape Oryx in the first place. They have no want in the Traveller otherwise they'd be on Earth already. Either way, us breaking through the Exclusion zone did start the war, we were at peace until that moment. Killing their commanders and portions of their foot line infantry doesn't make our case much better
