Y1 weapons. The problem and some ideas on how to fix it.

My only problem is the lost perks. Weapons can't have certain perk combos, perks, and certain perk tree skills for the weapons. Kinda like field scout, send it, and perfect balance don't longer exist. In all MMO's that I've played weapons effects (perks) progress with the weapons as well. A sword that did burn damage now does more for example. A sword that gave + to agility and poison damage now gives more. But in Destiny with every DLC they have not only prevent the new weapons from rolling old abilities, but took out ways for us to get the old weapons. If Fatebringer gets left behind. I'm afraid there will be no replace. No other Handcannon that can have firefly and outlaw. Same goes for all old weapons, raid weapons or not. Snipers can roll final round anymore. Pulse Rifles don't roll full auto anymore. Handcannons can't roll rangefinder and third eye together anymore. If this dlc doesn't bring ascension there will be no replacement for our guns. They will be "adding" weapons but making so much of the old weapons not competent. That kinda ruins the point of adding weapons huh??? I propose 3 ideas. 1. Bring the old perks, perk combos, and perk trees back to the rolling station. Allowing new weapons to have the perks we like. 2. Allow us to ascend legendaries into exotics via quest/material/glimmer/ect. That way weapons that have truly grown on us can be kept. But at the expense of an exotic slot. That way if we really love the weapon it will show. 3. Plain and simple ascension or infusion of old gear. That way our gear isn't lost. I'm all for new gear. But with Bungie's track record they remove as much as they "add". And in the end all players want is more options.

  • I fully support #infusionforall. Honestly, why make new weapons "compete" with the old stuff? New weapons should compliment what we already have, not outright replace it all. Why make a "new version" of the Fatebringer that people can go after? We ALREADY HAVE an Arc Damage Hand Cannon with Explosive Rounds. Why not make a SOLAR Damage Hand Cannon instead since we don't already have one of those? Or make another Arc Damage Hand Cannon with new kinds of perks that we haven't seen before to add variety? Keep the Year 1 stuff relevant while adding more options and diversity to the table. Flex your creative minds, Bungie. Don't limit yourselves with such lazy decisions.
