Taken King Requires Dark Below???

Edit #1: I understand that it wouldn't make sense for players to go through TTK without having completed other storylines, especially Crota's End. But you don't even need to go shank Oryx's son to get at him. In the tower reveal we saw that the "spark" consumable will unlock TTK storylines for Guardians under level 25. This begs another question: do players have to complete ALL content from the dlc's for each character they want to run through TTK with? Do the people who bought Dark Below get to say "naw" to it's story but play TTK? If not, that's not empowering to paying customers. If so, then why is a purchase of Dark Below / House of Wolves *required*? OP: I really don't see how having both dlc's is necessary for one's experience when playing Taken King content. We heard that Trials of Osiris will eventually be updated, but why would players need to own The Dark Below? Bungie is not revisiting VoG or Crota's End Raids, so how do they justify this? I personally won't be paying $60 for something that should just be $40. I hope I'm not the only one who will be waiting for pre-owned disc prices to drop. It's just shady as hell

  • Because ttk adds to the previous dlc like you go back to the reef and they send you to Mars to fight fallen there (not making it up sounds ridiculous but it's true) and they're adding to Eris a dark below vender plus they stated they don't want it to be complicated when selecting activities. Because of mismatched owned content you know.
