So let's say you somehow make a ship that can travel the speed of light(I know it's impossible but just humor me please) and you shoot something from this ship then would the projectile from that ship move faster then light?
-
Seriously, you have no way to aim when you're going at the speed of light. Your sight will be reduced to a single point of light from the direction you are going.
-
No... No method of shooting a projectile would allow it to surpass the speed of light. The projectile would just stay at the same speed as the ship itself.
-
Well no. The speed of light is the "speed limit". Nothing can go faster than it because light has no mass which means nothing to slow it down.
-
The speed of light is like the speed limit of the universe as we know it. That's literally how time works. My guess is that if you were traveling at the speed of light and fired something faster than the speed of light, it would break the space time continuum and end up somewhere else in time.
-
Did you know time around you slows down when you're traveling near the speed of light?
-
"If you do something impossible, will something impossible happen?"
-
3x10^8
-
If you had a weapon on a ship that could travel at the SoL, the weapons projectiles would have to shoot faster than the SoL for it to even leave the barrel of the weapon.
-
No the projectile would only be going faster than the speed of love.
