cough cough Here's a really logical argument I've never seen any christian try to go against. Let's see if you can.
If God is omnipotent... Then why does evil exist? God could have made us in a way so we didn't "Eat the forbidden fruit" or basically, start sinning, while still giving us free will. Hell, he programmed reality, why can't he change the definition of free will? Here are two answers to this question. One is correct, one is incorrect. That is a fact.

1. God doesn't exist. The most simple answer, and most logical.

2. God exists, but he has no mercy and no wisdom at all like all the christians say. Because if he was all-powerful (He is)Then He could easily rewrite all of the laws of life, Including sin, evil, pain, sadness, and anger.
This was to disprove the Christian God, I've never looked into or been involved with other religions. Now, come at me.

  • How can mere mortals (us) rationalize for an all powerful and all knowing being (God)? Maybe a plausible reason is to bring about good through evil. For example, your bad argument might bring good from it by helping someone closer to realizing God exists.

What I said was intended to point out christianity's self-contradictions. Not an argument. Also, I should point out that the only reason religeon still exists is this:
Ages ago people started asking questions about the world that they didn't know the answers to. So they made up some answers that made the most sense to them. Those answers were expanded upon and passed down through the generations and some people started taking them seriously and thus religion was born.
I found that in another thread.

  • If not a God to explain those questions, then what? Aliens? Because it's any harder to believe in an all powerful creator than aliens? What's your point? Not to mention Jesus, who came and said "Hey I made you, follow my church" and worked all sorts of miracles to help us unbelievers.

  • Does it logically make sense that we could explain the actions of our creator with perfect clarity? Can an ant explain why humans do or do not allow the ant hole to get flooded?

  • 1. Ants are a terrible comparison 2. And it does make "logical" sense since we were supposedly made in his image therefore we should have some understanding of his plans.

  • We are made in His image, but we are finite creatures and not the creator. Finite can not fathom the infinite

  • This is once again still an appeal to ignorance you have not presented any evidence for the exist of your god.

  • Jesus said He is God. Believing takes faith. If it didn't take an effort, everyone would believe, and then it wouldn't be earning heaven but rather be given it. God could have chosen to give us all heaven like that but he didn't. He gave us free will and ability to reason, to make our own choices.

  • Once again you theists simply say "you just gotta believe". This sadly isn't proof of anything but your gullibility.

Perhaps I should clear up things about my past. I was born into a christian family, still am in a christian family, and was a christian. For 5 years, by the way. After an "incident" (I'd prefer not to talk about it), I kept on hearing all of the christians around me say the sane thing about it. As if they had no worries in the world. Then, I realized: They were lying to themselves. A good lie is better than the painful truth to any human, including myself and you too. All christians say is "If your right I just rot in a hole but if I'm right You're going to hell." I could basically say "If you jump off of this tall cliff, there will be a net at the bottom and you will get infinite pleasures. If you don't, you will be robbed of all your posessions." and it would be a better argument than all the christians make, because: You can peek over the cliff's edge.

  • If God is omnipotent Can he do something or create something that he cannot do? Omniscient How can we have free will if he knows what's to happen always? That means there's a single predestined path Omnipresent Why can we not interact with him? What about the innermost layer of hell where he is said not to be?

  • Sin is anything opposed to God's nature. Therefore, the only way to give us free will without the possibility of sin is for God to cease to exist. But God is the sustainer of all things. So, if he ceased to exist, then we would cease to exist. Therefore, your argument is nonsense.

  • Great job "Trying" to disprove my point, but I want to hear from you what you think omnipotence is. Because that was my main point. And you mentioned everything but my main point.
Don't think I have no idea about the bible, I read it 2 times through and was a strong christian for 5 years. Then I opened my eyes thanks to the lovely people of #Offtopic.
It's easy to believe a lie if you never hear of the truth. That is all.

  • I addressed the point and gave you a logical answer. God is all powerful, he can do anything. Don't bring up logical contradictions because they cancel each other out, thereby becoming nothing. Nothing is not a thing to be done. God can do anything.

  • The argument is not about proof for God. The argument is about whether or not the biblical God could theoretically do something.
